Short combat test at magi hold: Pings are normal, spell casting seems a little more responsive than usual, it's barely noticeable and it may be my imagination but I’d say that abilities have less delay than before, when I cast a spell it feels more immediate than before, it's almost imperceptible but surprised me the first time I casted a spell. After 10 minutes it was less perceptible so I’m not sure if I just became accustomed to it, if it was my imagination in the first time or if there was some kind of very minor performance degradation. HP regen seems to be wrong somehow. On live I usually get a steady HP regen but I noticed that my regen was working differently on test my hp barely increased for a few seconds but every few seconds I got a 3-4% HP regen/increase due to my magi hold wand. On live there are no big hp regen spikes my hp regens steady.
also /bug'd everything - flying mounts dont seem to want to fly - population of bank slots is slow, at first you see only half the items the rest pops up half a second later. - rifting is slower, as soon as you pick a location to fo the riftstone and the riftmap disappear, but you keep standing there for another 2 seconds while nothing happends except the rift particle pulse recalling is showing the same sluggishness as rifting, chunking looks fine though - The network fps value seems to have disappeared fromt he connection monitor, a lot of ui's used thie value to report fps --- possibly related to social being down--- Diplomacy doesnt seem to give faction civic diplomacy doesn affect levers civic diplomacy levers are at 0, instead of 5 or 10 as default value on live.
Alimora, slow rifting may be due to the areas being down, I may be wrong but I think that if an area has been empty for a while it will be turned off and the game will turn it in again when someone tries to enter it. Given the low number of people in the test server it's logical to think that most areas will be on stand-by so it will take longer to rift to that area as it has to be reactivated before entering it. I wish I could test that... But right now I'm at work so I can't play
gresteh after 500 days online time in vangaurd i should be able to differentiate between a sleeping chunk and slow rifting / recalling dont you think? please save your comments untill you can actually test something yourself, cause im pretty sure if you rift between afrit and khal 10 times in 2 mins it wont be down................
Ok, it's just that when I tested it few hors ago I didn't experience anything like that, granted I didn't play for long, but rifting was normal at least to tanvu.
Most of the slow loading or zoning is going to be the result of Test server being a fraction of the hardware that Telon is. Looking into the other issues.
Got back from work and testing right now. I have noticed something when i loot a corpse that only have money as loot i can see the loot window for an instant, opening and closing almost immediately. Other than that and the problems mentioned before it looks right. Im planning to keep testing for a few hours so im available for whatever you need me.
I have 3 accounts on atm one interesting thing is my monk is standing next to my wiz and the wiz appears to be bouncing up and down. If I switch computers I see the same affect. the wiz is wearing the shendu robe, perhaps the graphic animation has something to do with it. nothing else is bouncing and looking at myself (wiz) in another view does not appear to be bouncing. in addition, all machines are getting pings under 150 and fps varies depending on the graphics cards. otherwise, same network. one machine is using windows 8 and is the slowest to load and chunk.
Not sure where to post this as it's related to this update but not related to the network change but since wigin mentioned OT i'll post here as i think it may be related to that East Angoer Bunker Live: East Angoer Bunker Test: Not sure if it's intended or not but I liked the old version better, I’m guessing its part of some art asset revamp for OT that had some unintended consequences. Back on topic. I went back to live to test a couple of things and i noticed that the HP thing was happening there too, i had never seen that before yesterday's patch and since i didn't play yesterday i didn't notice it.. Another thing i notice is that the ping is lower in the test server once i went back to live i noticed that i had higher ping there than on test so good job Hobart. EDIT: The stone color thing afects more things such as the wayfarer's embasy at khal
social server is working and flying mounts flying. ping everywhere I have gone so far is under 200 , have redlined fps a couple of times (NT, OT) but otherwise good numbers.
flight bugs still exist. most notable ones chunking from skrillen to pota and sod to forgotten battlefield
Ready for some testing. I have the major issues reported fixed. I have some additional tracking in place for future Social and Chat issues. Please break things if you have time this evening.
a small band of us took a run at arena master and alagon. although we did see lag improvement on arena master, without a load of troops in the chunk it would be hard to say if it was better or not. no ping for me over 726. Alagon was lag free both at initial spawn, and when the flames spawned. There were only 5 of us in chunk, but this seems like a major improvement.
thats good to hear, but itll only be good once the test server is holding more people. even before the net code changes, there was no lag on engage. hopefully this carries over when we try out raids
Social server still seems to be down. Haven't been able to use Group, Shout, region chat all weekend. Flying mounts are now definitely working however.
