  3. That little picture there sure doesn't pack any punch (if it had any to begin with) because of the misspelled words in it. And this post isn't under the picture that had that, so just disregard, I suppose..:p
  4. How does one loose interest anyway? Is there a way to tighten it maybe?
  5. I don't think Semil meant any malice. Glad to see he is defending the game.

It happens when you and a group of friends keep dying b/c of red lag. I don't mind the occasional death to lag, but lately it has taken a turn for the worse. (for us anyway) By no means am I saying people shouldn't try this game or it's not enjoyable. Honestly, when it's working it's one of the better games I have played.
  6. Melody wasn't actually asking what made you lose interest. He/she was making fun of your spelling. Loose/lose.
  7. It's so sad because there were people posting the exact same thing as the OP in 2007. They like the game but the bugs are driving them away. People have been saying the same thing ever since, but what is especially sad is that not only have the devs been unwilling or unable to resolve the problem in 5 years, but every time someone explains why they are on the verge of quitting, some fool like Semil posts the same useless crap about if you don't like it go away.
If you cared enough to look at the post history of this forum, it's the one constant through the whole 5 years. Replace the OP's name with someone else who quit in 2007 and never returned, and replace Semil's name with Ghostchild or Magicnumbers or one of the other dozen or so idiots to plague this game since even before it was released.
SOE you disappoint me for not getting this game in to the shape it deserves even after all that time. And people like Semil, you disappoint me because not only are you enablers, but you are also destructive to the already struggling community.
  8. Are you aware of what's going on with the game? Are you aware we have new developers? Are you aware of the content patches that are trinkling in and the bug fixes that are constantly coming? The new content coming this month? The developers being transparent with what they're working on, and actually working WITH the community? This was all explained on page 1. The developers are working on it. They're fixing it. NEW developers that are ACTUALLY working on it are working on it and ACTUALLY fixing it. What is the purpose of the complaint threads? The thing they're after is already happening. The game is being worked on and fixed by a new group. This group had no pull in 2007, they started recently, and they've done a great job. What do you want from them? You're being redundant and asking them to do what they are already doing.

YES I AM AWARE OF EVERYTHING. I have been with this game every step of the way, and it has always been plagued by people like you who insist everything is fine or that everything is being done that can be done. When people complained in beta, people like you told them to F.O back to WoW. And you know what, they did, and they never looked back. When the game was released half baked and half broken, again people like you told everyone to like it or lump it, and yet again... they did. Something like 400,000 people were playing this game in the first month, and not long after, they had all gone.
In the years since, SOE clearly showed no interest in this game, had it on life support with a tiny skeleton crew doing very little to improve it, and yet they still did occasional "free month" deals for former players to come back and see the progress. And people did return, they saw that there was no real progress. And again.... they would come here and explain how they felt, and as usual, some idiot like you would tell them IF U NO LIEK IT GO PLAY SOMTNG ELZE!!
They did... and that's why we are down to one barely populated server. Don't ask me any more questions, I have nothing to answer for. It's you and people like you who have done nothing but hinder this game.
  10. Sounds like you might be mad.

I am sure they are aware of it. My 3 month sub is almost up and the lag issue remains. As a 'paying' customer that is unacceptable. If I treated my job like SoE is treating VG I would be fired. There are tons of threads about this and tons saying when it happened.
I appreciate the effort of the developers who are working on the game. My comments are not a shot at them but at shot at the way SoE corporate has treated this game. VG could have been truly a great game that missed out on the big time b/c it couldn’t get out of its own way.
Edit: -- The real shame is they had a chance at a new beginning w/ F2P. Now we have missed that window too.

I agree with most of this. SOE has been treating this game poorly, which is common knowledge. The people higher up don't care about forum posts, however. The people dealing with us directly might care, but as I mentioned, they're already working on it, which is why I believe that forum posts like this thread do not benefit the game. Proper bug report threads do, as it goes to the devs in a constructive manner, as does the /bug command in game. This is more of a venting thread, which helps the end result little.

I also disagree with you about the F2P window being missed. F2P just started recently. Player count is still climbing for whatever reason. Maybe some are just now getting bored with GW2 and noticing VG on Steam. Who knows? Whatever is causing it, it's a good thing. I have high hopes for this coming month's patch, and I'm going to reiterate that the developers aren't going to be able to magically fix the issues at the speed that the community wants them to. Watch some of the posts from some of the devs. There's one thread just recently where I saw two posts by a single dev 12 hours apart. One in the morning, saying he's going to take a look an issue. One in the afternoon saying "I got some of it done, but not all, will work more tomorrow" and then one in the evening where he says "It's fixed." That is a dev that either continued to work on the issue at home or stayed late to get it done. I'm very thankful for devs like this and browbeating them with an issue they're already fixing is not going to accomplish anything. I stand by that.

Trent. You're embarassing yourself. Stop while you're behind.
  14. Hey there,
The Development Team is very busy working on addressing those annoying bugs. Obviously, they won't be able to wave a magic wand to make all bugs go away right away but they are dedicated to improving the game! You can report bugs in game and on the Game Issues forum to help out! While they may not always be able to answer every post, they do read those forums and use the information posted when tracking down bugs! Just be sure to provide enough details that the QA team can reproduce the issue. When issues can be reproduce it makes it easier for them to figure out how to fix them!

  17. Wow, this is still going, isn't it?
Semil, I can't speak for others, but what irked me the most about your post(s) was not the message it conveyed, but the way in which it was conveyed, and your presumption.
It sounds like you expected the OP, innocent and new to VG as he is, to scour the forums for similar posts from similar people complaining about similar issues - this would, for some reason, forestall his own post about the lag issues. That is silly. Who does that? Heck, he'd probably try using the search function, something wouldn't work, and there would be ANOTHER issue to add to his list of "Things Vanguard is doing to make me quit.".
You frustration and even your message is noble - and I, in a sense, agree with it. The devs we have are doing an excellent job and they're going as fast as they can. But to expect every Tom, Dick, and Harry who is new the Vanguard to know this ....? All they see is a buggy 5 year old game that, if smoothed out, would be an excellent game, and they want it resolved. All things considered I believe it is well within their right to voice that opinion.
  18. Locking this thread, as it's devolved into bickering and one-upsmanship.
Not disputing that there are valid claims in the thread, and we own up to those, but it's time to move on to more civil discussions.
