Points of interest in the world

I've had a lot of fun personally, exploring the empty world, re-visiting places that I haven't seen in many years. It's brought back tons of vivid memories of the early days of Vanguard for me, before I quit the game around late 2008, right before the level cap increase. I thought I'd share some places I've found, as well as ask for any others that are really neat to visit, if this is of interest to anyone else.

First off, APW (Rift: APW). It was nice being able to run around this place and view its amazing design without dying. Here are some points of interest if you're wanting to explore a bit:

* General Vicus: 58500, 11000, -35000
* Basement: -17000 200 -40000
* Kotasoth: -33000 -45000 -38000

All Father Quest (Rift: StranglewaterShore). This was an amazing questline that few people seemed to mention. In the end, it involved getting on rocket jetpacks and flying around the room to defeat an amazingly difficult, albeit BUGGY battle. I was thrilled to find this area deep beneath the ground, as it showed that the testers and content gatherers were able to get in and at least gather the data there:

* Entrance portal area: -60000 -435 -72000
* All Father Room: 34000 -710 -158000

Griffon Quest . The Griffon Quest had several places that were only accessible via a portal. I found a couple areas of interest, but I'm missing a couple that I would love to see (but haven't been able to find):

* Fungus King (Rift: SwampsOfRumug): -27300 -28000 -4500
* Arch Magus Hegnerian (Rift: SwampsOfRumug): -3000 -55400 -10700
* Chath Encounter: ?? (can't find this, I'd love to check this place out again)
* Harakhan Encounter: ?? (was this deep inside NN? Can't remember..)

If interested, other areas I found fun to explore and reminisce without dying were:
* Nusibe Necropolis
* Dargun's Tomb
* Graystone (Rift: BeranidHills)
* Trengal Keep
* ToT pyramids
* Pantheon Of The Ancients

These areas don't need coordinates since they are open to the world and easy to find. However, I also remember a couple of enormous caves scattered around that I can't seem to find, but still hunting. I also recall a giant Anthill cave somewhere, but I can't find that either (I thought it was in Thestra.. but it's been awhile).

Anyway, just wanted to share my experiences with the emulator so far. I'm loving it, and I've never been more excited about a game coming back to life, as I think Vanguard deserves a second chance with real fans behind the 'control board'. BIG thank you to the guys and gals making this happen.

Thank you for exploring our world, and enjoying the death-free journey (for now, hehe). The ant hill, if it's the one I experiences around level 10 as a baby, was in Renton Keep I believe (?) Giant ants everywhere. There might have been another one, as I seem to recall the ant's names popping up in data elsewhere.

Thanks for the coords, this is a cool sight-seers list.

Edit: I also found Riftseeker's Torrent accidentally the other day.

Absolutely correct and confirmed! I rifted there just now, and it put me right next to it. Can't believe I missed that before. Thanks!

FYI - my in-game name is: Vurgood. We've chatted a few times. I'd love to be a part of the C++ dev team at some point in the near future, as I familiarize myself a bit more with the codebase. I'll ping you about that separately soon. Thanks again!

Aye Telon is beautiful, so much to see and do. Crazy that even now, with just a basic world, most of us will log in and just hike around to take it all in. Sigil had some amazingly talented people working on this game

Want a few more interesting places, try Sunken Temple and Vault of the hidden both in Jathred's Twist. The former being a temple or shrine half covered in sand, the latter being an entire underground city of sorts with a fairly nondescript topside enterance. Im at work so I don't have locs, but the sunken temple was right next to the original Wayshrine in the zone.

Another good one is Chrysol Mines in Tauthien Delta, love the whole underground bunker idea at the bottom of a mine.
P.S General Irinas Ulaben, you are a puppet! I now know your secrets

Wow, as much as I played Vanguard back in the day and thought I'd see everything, I actually had never been in the Sunken Temple or the Vault of the Hidden. Thanks for sharing! I am just continuing to be blown away by the designs of these massive places. As for the Chrysol Mines, that was actually one of the caves I couldn't find, which I mentioned in my original post! However, I didn't realize how deep it went until exploring it now! Amazing..

You are awesome, thank you! I'm still having a bit of trouble finding the actual encounter room for Chath, but I imagine it can't be far underneath the tomb area that you mentioned. I seem to recall having to port to that room at some point.

Yes, you port into that room, it's under one of the hills around there I think, but I don't know the actual /loc.

.move -8785 46734 -30687

Life Wing Door
.move 429 21911 -28734
Life Wing (other side of door)
.move 438 21201 -29734

Death Wing Door

.move -12379 17252 -27563

Places of Interest (Un-needed Teleports)

Portal (it's use unknown)
.move -6033 27505 -25372

Life Wing (Palace Exit)
.move 12864 4881 -35553
Life Wing (Main Area)
.move 18410 68 -35530
Life Wing (Pillar Room)
.move 21124 -9191 -35478
Life Wing (Statue Room)
.move 36412 12740 -35473
Life Wing (Banner Room)
.move 38716 -3999 -37482
Life Wing (Bottom Gazebo)
.move 27827 2604 -41030
Life Wing (Large Gazebo/End)
.move 32455 19726 -41138

Death Wing (Palace Exit)
.move -17277 704 -26567
Death Wing (Main Area)
.move -22950 -3924 -26315
Death Wing (Gazebo/End)
.move -46960 -9704 -20773

Also, if someone can point me toward this:

It is supposedly an inaccessible room in ToT or NN area.
