In Vgmmodb there is a quest "Updating Kolar" for Bordinar's Cleft Chunk. Seems originaly the path for Coppermend's Delving quests was 1. Cleaning out Coppermend's Delving. 2. Udating Kolar 3. Dispatching the team. Stolen Demolitions and Scortch slate quests where the side quests here.

I think VGMMODB is probably extremely out of date in regards to this. The quests seem to go:
Defending Coppermend's Delving - This sends you to Blute Kolar
Cleaning out Coppermend's Delving - This is given to you BY Kolar. I see no reason that you have to "update" him since he's the one you're working for.
Stolen Demolitions - Given by Blute Kolar again. (Doesn't seem like a side quest)
Dispatching the Team - Also given by Kolar as a conclusion.

I honestly think this is one of those things that VG changed in the years since that archive site was created.

So I don't believe this series is bugged at all. I did do some upgrades and changes to the quests, so hopefully they still work okay.
