This Saturday, June 20th 2015, the authentication services will be offline for a short time while the servers are upgraded to be compatible with the new LaunchPad 2.0 application. If you have not read about this upgrade yet, check out this post in the Developer Forums.

The new launcher will offer us many options we did not have before, such as private servers and details about each server before you pick your new home. Most importantly, the new launcher solves a long-standing problem with the VGClientl.exe which is limited to a single-server for any one account. With the redesigned launcher, one account can once again play on multiple VG Servers.

The cut over should not take but a few hours, including testing by the dev team and beta testers. We appreciate your patience during this down time.


When the services come back online, ALL Players will have to download the new launcher, which you can find at VGOPlayers.com:

  This data wipe is to clear up 18+ mos of database schema changes and fix issues with the new systems being integrated into existing data, which caused many players to not experience the features we have implemented fully.

  PS: While the game services are down, players can download and install the new LaunchPad 2.0 app, which will check itself for updates upon every launch (details coming soon), and you can create your new Login account now here in preparation.

  If you encounter an error trying to launch the launchpad, you might need to remove the 2.0.1 version and reinstall 2.0.2. Sorry, I relocated the patcher to vgoplayers.com this morning.

btw, I would appreciate getting some feedback from the players/community when major changes like this are occurring so I know things are either working as expected or there are problems.

Re-created my account and downloaded the launcher, I'll check later today to see how it all works together ^^

I had trouble getting on last night, but then I saw the note about deleting the config file for the new patcher. I did that, reinstalled, and everything was fine. I hung out on NT for a while last night, shopping for a new wardrobe on the broker. Everything worked fine (other than one hang while chunking).
