May not be a bug, may be client graphics glitch, but we can investigate to see if it's a client setting the player should try.

Sounds kinda like the parent id issue.

Why would the general landscape use parent ID? This didn't sound like a house problem.

Xinux, in all the garbage VGClient sends us, is there not one bit of data about client version? In any packets? Even if it's an OP/0x1 local to the world, maybe we can siphon it out and upload it to Login with the character updates. It would be helpful to know the client versions, if there really is some issue with client versions. We can also use this to block old clients.

Not that I can find all of the patching and file checks were done by the launcher. I would say maybe just do a crc check on the players vgclient.exe and if it doesn't match have a popup pointing them to the download link.

Oh yeah, we did discuss that before. I do have a CRC check on the Launcher currently. I'll see if I can work something up.

Wish we could just patch the different files. It would make everyone's lives easier.

If there were some problem with compiling a shader, it would sometimes not show at all (transparent objects) or solid white. And some graphics cards had problems with a few shaders, like the floors in Thestran guildhalls and Palace of Erthena (River Palace).
But this sounds like a different issue since I never heard about shader problems in Castle Landsview.
Maybe related to the proximity loading of objects that is worse then on live. Eg try to run up the stairs in a lighthouse. That was always a bit funky on live when a new floor popped in, but on New Telon I can run in "void" for almost half a floor before it pops in.
