Xinux, please change .setrace (and your other .set commands) to be Self-only unless you are flagged IsGM or IsDev. This command is generating far too many bugs.

Xinux, I agree with John.
To make this work, I believe the spawn packet needs to be resent to all clients which have this actor in their channel list. This is complicated, and as a cosmetic feature, I think we should just restrict this for now to be self-only for all.
Are there any collects of a race change? This has to be exactly the same effect as a buff which changes your appearance (Illusion of Cat Woman, etc), except it doesn't expire.
Another possibility is not handling this change while the player is playing: Just have the command update the DB and the player will notice the effects when they next log in. Although, if we've figured out the "Illusion" route, we might as well just show the change to the player immediately.

Racial abilities and attribute bonuses?
Re: Bug 108: (Xinux) I'm changing Aradune's race an...
Just thought of something - what about appearance changes that also have bonuses? Like the panther mask that turned you into a cat and gave you +15% running speed. Is that a different issue because it wasn't really a race change and was temporary?
Also, there were a handful of masks that you could acquire - cat, pumpkin, etc that would change your appearance. (Well, your head at least.) Also, things like snowballs - when you threw one at someone, their appearance would change for a short time.
These things for another topic?

Haiku is easy -
But sometimes it makes no sense.

Good point. It's not just an appearance change. This is getting more and more complicated.
However, just on the appearance side of things, we do need to figure out what happened when there was a legitimate model change in Live, such as becoming a panther or snowballed.
This is opening up a big can o' worms, and I'm trying to focus on the actor replication piece for now.

I honestly wouldn't waste a tick on illusion forms just yet. That kind of stuff is unnecessary and a long ways off. That's my 2cp. Collect intell, address when it's time to start writing LUA scripts for abilities and clickies.
