Not only was I promoted to Gold Member status, but I could type in chat from character select!
Haiku is easy -
But sometimes it makes no sense.

That happened a lot on live.
In fact, once you camped, if you hit '/' it would bring up your default chat box. It didn't/doesn't work until you camp though.

Spot on, I used to use this to talk across server from Xeth to Seradon and also ask guildies what toons they wanted me on for groups, grinding, raiding etc
