Character data not deleted server side
Last night I was playing around, rifting myself to random rift numbers. Was working great up until I did a rift which cause me to crash to char select. I thought uh oh, my char is stuck in a down chunk or something. I tried to re log him back in but it wouldn't go. Just kept sending me back to char select. So I thought well I will just delete and re-make him. No big deal.
So I delete, and remake him with the same name, set to start on IOD. Press log in and end up back at char select. I think to myself this is odd and try again. Same thing happens. So I delete and make him again and this time I manage to log in, only im not in IOD. Im in Lomshir which I guess is the chunk that was down when I tried to rift earlier. Further more my char still has the same old look when actually in the world, but at char select he looks the way he did when I re-created him. (minus the fact that DE in the world have a different skin shade than they do at char select but that is being covered in another thread.)
It appears that when you delete a char from the server, the server is not actually deleting the old data to that char. So if you re-make a new one with the same name, it just pulls up the old data for the original one you made.
I also wanted to take a moment and mention something my wife Vocaliah noticed as she plays in 3rd person a lot. Sometimes the animations for your char do not activate and so it looks like you are "floating" when you are running around as you can move, but your chars legs and arms are not moving at all. I myself notice this happen on and off randomly.

Re: Character data not deleted server side
Character Deletes do not actually delete the data from the tables, they flag them as "is_deleted". If something went wrong (ie., LoginServer was crashed this morning at 12:01am MST til 6:40am MST), the LoginServer does not get this signal to flag a character as Deleted. We're planning to re-write some of that code soon to let the WorldServer become the authority of what toons are active and deleted. Thanks for this detailed report so we can reproduce the problem.

"Movement" is not finalized in VGOEmu. On your own screen, your character should move fluidly. If you are 2-boxing, or viewing a 2nd player in the same area as you, their motions will be no animation, merely periodic updates of where they are standing. They scoot around like Southpark characters This is a known issue, because the system is incomplete.
But no, you yourself in 3rd person camera view, should always see "yourself" moving normally.
