Well that's how I started playing Vanguard:
My fiancé Orvin did a diplo parley in Aghram, it was the parley with the Prophet of Vaelion. You had to solve a riddle and find out the colours of the beloved stars of some - I think - goddesses. If you didn't find out the correct colours the Prophet killed you. It was quite fascinating to solve that riddle and Orvin managed to survive with my help
After that I was watching him playing quite for a while and the more I saw the more I wanted to get an account and finally - some days later - I created Mithni, my first toon in Vanguard, my first MMO...
Orvin had a hard time in my first days, as Mithni had to learn how to WALK... she was lurching around, not able to stay on the bridges on IoD and she almost drowned when she fell into water, that was only knee-high
Well... after two years I ended up having 36 chars on 3 gold accounts, being able to raid and yes... all of my chars were able to RUN

Oh wow, that must have been amazing, running around Vanguard as your 1st MMO. I started playing MMO's back in 1997 or 98 and Ive played so many that the magic and wonder has worn off a lot, but I remember running around Telon my 1st time in Jan or Feb of 2007 and being in awe. I remember going to harvest a tree and I was so excited that the tree actually fell over when I chopped it lol.
The graphics I LOVED. I will never forget the first time riding my horse from Tursh to Trengal Keep, I felt like I was in a Lord of the Rings movie. I loved Diplomacy for all the awesome stories it told, and so much more. What an awesome mmo to have been your 1st Mithni, I envy you!! I am so glad we have this chance to keep Vanguard alive. Its a piece of art that deserves more than it got. Keep the stories coming guys and gals, I love it. Post more stories if you have any Mithni!
Edit to say that Vanguard had and still has the ability to put back the magic and wonder in an old jaded mmo gamer lol.
