Firstly, thanks to everyone helping with development of the emulator. This is very exciting! And I'd like to help if I can (sign me up for data collecting).
My question though is this; Are we able to add on to the game? For example, I think in this newly reborn world of Telon it would be helpful to have added a global chat. Maybe we'll just have a chat channel created that everyone can join, but it'd be nice (especially for new comers) if this was just done for them automatically. It would be a nice way to find other players for grouping and events. And of course a nice way to help strengthen the community.
Lastly, when the emulator is "complete" (if that's truly possible) can new content be created? Things we've always asked for but never got around to - Like an Alternate Advancement system (AA's) and things of that nature?
Thanks again, I look forward to seeing everyone in Telon soon!

Re: Additional Content
We actually already did add a global chat channel by the request of some community members last week. As far as content - anything server side (spawns, quests, ect) we will 100% be able to add new additions yes. Things that require a UI we "may" be able to add, it depends on what we can do to work with the client. There are a lot of unused unreal engine features in the client so likely yes completely new features are possible as well.
Re: Additional Content
Thanks for the reply! Those all sound like positive responses. Though I do understand new functionality and content shouldn't be a top priority.

@Foof
I was actually trying to draw out a visual work flow for yanking assets from the client side and then finding a way to get it into UE 2 / 3 and then finding a way to export that into somethign that could be picked up by UE4 (Which im' currently working with along with 3DS Max and Maya). I don't know how feasible this is, and it would be a massive under taking to try to put this game back together in this manner. But even if I wanted to do a visual design in UE4 the trick would be the world /terrain build and then getting all the assets sorted and imported to a newer unreal engine.
Where the fantasy hits another snag is moving from an old engine to a new engine, most of what we're dealing with is server side as well, a whole backend that functions based on what we can rig together. I don't even know if it would be possible to engineer a way to tie the backend we are using for the emulator into UE4. But that would be a lifetime of love on my part. I'd love to just see how far I could get moving the game into a newer engine. Impractical maybe, but i'm more curious about if it's possible.
A more realistic goal might be just finding a way to get all the assets pulled and sorted out so we could create new ones or modify existing assets (Models, Textures, Animations) .
