Hey guys.
I'm another long time VG player and was interested in helping in some capacity. I can't help program or decipher packets, but if you need someone to run around in game, I can certainly do that. My time is a bit limited these days, but I'll do what I can.

And thanks for working on this project. I love Vanguard and would hate to see it disappear forever.

As an aside, how much content modification/generation are you expecting to have when the emulator is up and running? Can you adjust some of the dumber changes that were made in the last few years?

I'm not a part of this emulator team but do some work with these guys over at EQ2Emulator, and they are working to finalize a plan to allow the community to help with collection, just keep checking back and they'll let everybody know soon

Has the packet collector been put out yet? I thought I saw someone on rerolled say they started collecting last night, but I don't see it anywhere on this site.

Yes, we have validated that the collects are looking good, and preparing (maybe within the next week) to do full-scale collections in the live game. See the Data Collection forums for more information.
