Mouselook not working (left mousebutton)

Hi all,

as the topic states, i need a bit help on mouselook. Checked the settings and it seems all fine. On 2nd computer same mouse, same copy of the game, all fine...

anyone know a hint?

So, I downloaded the emulator yesterday, and I am having the problem described in this post. Thought someone else may have had a fix for it.

I tried to see if a different mouse would fix the issue, but this didn't work either.

I understand that this is a work in progress, but this is essentially stopping me from even trying it. I have tried messing around with different key bindings as well, but nothing is working.

I can't "pan" around my character while holding in the left mouse button, which is basically a game breaker for me.

Any insight or help would be appreciated, as VG used to be one of my favorite games and I'd love to try it out again.

The controls are entirely client side, we have no control over them. I can offer some suggestions though. Actual mouse used wouldn't matter, unless the binds are set to a button that only one has. If using Left/Right buttons then any mouse should act the same.

And sorry to the original poster that this got missed.

There are two different mouse look controls; MouseLook and MouseTurn.
  • MouseLook spins your camera around your character without changing facing direction.
  • MouseTurn makes your character turn.
In the controls near the top are the button assignments to check.
  • MouseLookX and MouseLookY are the axis movements to use, by default bound to MouseX(left/right) and MouseY(up/down) respectively.
  • MouseLook and MouseTurn are the buttons to use, defaults to LeftMouse and RightMouse respectively.
  • ToggleMouseTurn is a button that toggles MouseTurn rather than just on hold.
At the top of the controls panel are a few options that can change how MouseLook and MouseTurn work.
  • Cam Snap-Behind will cause mouse look to snap back to directly behind the character when the MouseLook button is released.
  • Right-Click Cam Snap will cause your camera to snap to face the character when you use MouseTurn, rather than the character facing camera.

Really appreciate the reponse. So, after messing with some of the controls, I found the following to work (kind of). I have to hold the left mouse button and then press "a" or "d" to look/pan left and right. Functional, but for from desirable.

Also, "looking" up and down is a pain as well since it isn't possible to achieve this with the mouse.

I was in game for a while though trying it out, and I'm really glad to see that VG is still around and playable.

Again, really appreciate the insight/response, and I will take another look at it tomorrow to see if I am potentially missing something. I would like to keep playing during the development of the emulator, so hopefully I can find a fix to the issue I'm experiencing.
