Lomshir Plain QA
Re: Lomshir Plain QA
Elemental Altars: So for this quest, we had no info on what the player was actually supposed to do. The quest objective just had the player killing 4 elementals - which did not exist in our database. The info says to figure out how to summon them with the altars, which we had no idea how it worked. So I just took the initiative and set it up how I thought it should be. I removed the central altar and put one near the coast. Each one has a summoner near them. The summoner drops the item needed to activate the altar. That summons the elemental.

Today's work:
Nomad Threat - Complete
Horse Sales - Complete
Gila Hides - Complete
An Unpleasant Task - Complete
A Rare Find- Complete. According to Telonica, this quest would pop up as you neared the tavern in Dark Horse Downs if you have the flower in your inventory. I honestly don't like the way this is done. And given that there is very little information in regards to this quest, I might make it so you right click the flower to get the quest like, oh, every other quest of this kind given in game. But for now, the quest pops up if you have the flower and go near the tavern. You can also get it from the quest turn-in guy, just in case you miss that popup.

Today's work:
Infiltrating Chaos - This was supposed to start in Temple of Dialuk, but this progression makes no sense. You are sent by Julian to a person in ToD, then that person sends you back into Lomshir Plain to do quests in an area where Julian gives you quests. So I agree with putting this quest on Julian and keeping it entirely in Lomshir Plain. In addition, the cleanup on this chunk needs to set it up so there's only one investigator, and he paths through the whole Excavation - so players need to hunt him down. Also, I'm not sure if this is just me as I didn't do these quests in the proper order, but I'm left wondering "What plans?" "What did they find out?" As the player, I should be part of that, I should know what's going on. So when I do a non-GM runthrough of this, I'm going to make sure these questions are answered.
End the Operation - Complete
Fair Salvage - Complete. Sorta. We're having some trouble with getting a clickable object to give a quest. Other than that, it works! And that's the last Adventuring quest in Lomshir Plain!

Re: Lomshir Plain QA
As a reminder: Working for the Witch requires that you do other quests in order to get those objectives complete. You do not kill things for "Working for the Witch". You need to pick up "Working for the Witch" and then three new quests become available on the NPC (Blindara).
The only real issue with this quest is that Working for the Witch has "Gathered Cobra Fangs" as one of the objectives and the actual quest, "Culling Cobras" Has you bringing back live cobras in a sack, not collecting fangs. (She still wants them for that reason, but that's not what you're doing). I believe SOE might have gone through here and made some changes to the whole area, but didn't change the wording on these quests so they're confusing. I might go back and fix this later, but for now we're leaving it like it was in live VG.
Recently some faction changes went through and it appears that Blindara is KOS. I'm not sure if this is because of how much I was working and killing in that chunk, if because I'm Vulmane or what. But this might be a problem and there's nothing I can do to fix it right now. So getting her quests might be difficult unless you turn aggro off.

Re: Lomshir Plain QA
I noticed today that "Horse Rescue" was throwing some errors. Looks like I never got around to fixing this one in my initial pass. So I'll work on that today.

Re: Lomshir Plain QA
Horse Rescue is finally working. I had to do some unconventional things, so I hope it works out okay. If we don't get a lot of bug reports on this, then I'd like to set up some of the other escorts to be more like this one.

Re: Lomshir Plain QA
I was doing this one today and, for the life of me, I cannot find any regular Sentries. There's a grouping of Elite Sentries in the pass between the cliff and the watchtower camp north of the beacon, but those don't give kill credit. I tried killing some of the Elites on the off-chance that a normal one spawned, but that didn't happen either. I'm guessing it's like the kill Scout quest - first you kill the normal ones, then the next quest has you kill the Elites? In any event, I wandered all over the chunk with a /tar macro for them but never found a one.Kill the Sentries - Complete. Though there's no location information for this one. It's kind of confusing. I'll have to create some POIs for it later.
Would you mind checking to see if they're spawning correctly?
Re: Lomshir Plain QA
They are spawning correctly, though the quest text from Live isn't fully accurate. The Excavation he was working in is to the West. Lomshir Plain in general isn't yet fully complete, the mob placement still needs work. The regular Sentries are mainly inside the excavation. They're also stealth, so if your Awareness isn't high enough you may not see them before they attack.Curby wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:31 pmI was doing this one today and, for the life of me, I cannot find any regular Sentries. Re: Lomshir Plain QA
Ok, that makes sense as to why I couldn't find them outside - Seeing all the other ones around outside, I didn't think to check inside.
I'll give it another go. Thanks so much for looking into this!

Need to make scripts for the horse racers.
Also, it is strange that some horsemen have the same surname, but diff races. (see the pic)
