Game randomly closes on me.

I found VGOEmulator a few days ago and was excited to play. I downloaded everything, and then found my old sunset files so I put the launchpad 3.0 file in it. The game runs, but randomly closes on me without warning. Sometimes it happens immediately upon clicking play on a character. Another time I was able to play for about an hour. Usually it the game closes within minutes of me playing though. There are no error messages, and I haven't noticed any pattern to this occurring. Has anyone else experienced this before? I'd really love to play again.

I've been having the same issue. I downloaded it about a week ago, I just checked the link I used and it's the same one Xinux posted above, I have launchpad 3.0 and I usually crash (don't know if this is the right word for it, but that's what I'm using for now) multiple times each play session, screen goes black for a second, then I see my desktop, the game is completely closed. Like bootangles, there seems to be no pattern to it and no messages. I can play fine for hours sometimes, but others I have crashed 3-4-5 times within an hour. It has even crashed while just sitting on the character select screen. It doesn't happen in the same locations either. For instance, I've made multiple characters and played through the Earth Den part a few times now. There have been times I can do all the quests there no problem, others I have crashed 3-4 times. Once I made a new character, got in game, hid my helm, moved some spells around, pushed button to move forward and crashed before I even talked to the guy for my first quest.

One suggestion I have is relating to graphics drivers. I have an NVidia card and the NVidia control panel installed along with the drivers allows you to configure settings for different programs/games. At one time I was suffering serious stuttering in Vanguard until I got the suggestion to set the program to manage some of its own settings. For some reason I was missing the control panel but I finally fixed that problem (I think I had to completely uninstall and reinstall my drivers or something) and once I set some of the settings for vgclient.exe to "Application controlled" (one of which was "Anisotropic filtering" for me) and the stuttering stopped and hasn't came back since.

You're not experiencing stuttering and I'm not sure what graphics card and drivers you have but that might be something you can to look into.

You're not experiencing stuttering and I'm not sure what graphics card and drivers you have but that might be something you can to look into.

I'll give that a try, thanks. I have AMD and it already has Anisotropic filtering set to application controlled for the entire system, but I will add a separate one for vgclient.exe and see if changing anything else helps.

Yeah, I forgot to list any of that info. I'm using a laptop (which I know isn't the best for gaming, but what games I have played, play fine) but it has Win8.1, 16gb ram, and says it has AMD A10-5750M APU and AMD Radeon HD 8650G.

There was another setting that VG absolutely hated. I can't remember what it was, but it had something to do with multiple GPUs.

Is it the launcher or the game that is closing?
