The Hunter's League Progression
The Hunter's League Progression
I realize Tanvu and Khal still need QA, but every now and then I really need to write my own scripts just to clear my head and keep things moving. I'll definitely get back to Tanvu soon, but I've been wanting to work on the Hunter's League for a while now - primarily to give the players something to work for.
Please note that Hunter's League was VERY GRINDY, and I don't intend to change it. By the blessing of the devs, however, the respawn rate on the mobs is VERY FAST, so you won't have to sit and wait a lot for mob spawns like we had to in live.
So, let's get started:
Qa Riverbank Quests:
The Hunter's League -COMPLETE. Seriously that's the first quest's name. Okay, for some reason Vanguard split these quests up into Tank, Melee, Healer and Caster versions. I don't know why. All the quests are the same except minor text changes (like one letter is different in the first quest, literally, one letter). Since our setup only displays items that your class can equip, I will be setting all these up as ONE quest for everyone. This will save us resources and sanity if something has to be changed later.
Also, Some of the class versions of the gear is missing from the quest rewards. Hopefully we have the gear in our items database. If not, I'll recreate the gear the best I can as we go along.
DK belt was the only one missing from the database. It has been restored based on information from The Telon Project.
The Hunt Continues - Complete. There's a little bit of a confusing spot here. You need 10 goat hides. The place where the goats are at, there's clickable goats for another quest. It makes me mad that the original Devs would put these goats together like this. Cuz if you're on one of the quests but not the other, it's probably confusing as hell which one you need. I thought about putting a message on the clickable goats that their hides aren't good enough for the Hunter's League, but I've just left it alone for now.
Also when this quest is over, he tells you where to go next in the turn-in quest, but if you didn't heed what he said, you'll miss where to go next.
Thinking about putting in an extra "Go here, talk to this guy" quest, but I'm not sure if that's too much coddling. For now, I'm leaving it like it was in live.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Today's Work:
Aiding the League: Complete. Nothing special about it. Note: Whenever you were sent to a new questgiver, there was no pre-req for the first quest they offer. This allowed you to skip parts of the hunter's league if you didn't care about that armor or weren't interested in certain gear.
In Search of More: Complete. Recreated missing gear.
Moving on Up: Complete.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Today's work:
Rising in Rank - Complete
No Rest for the weary - Complete
The Time Has Come - Complete
The Final Test - Complete.
Hunter's League Bounty: Velthezok Skawlra - Complete
That's it. Hunter's league is done. I'm currently trying to find the loot table for Velthezok, it's not something we currently have on hand. If I can find out what he drops, I'll add it to his drop script.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
I just found out that Velthezok spawned adds. I'm assuming those are the Prismatic Guardians that we found in his cave. I'll set up the adds to pop at certain intervals as soon as I'm able.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Does anyone remember the strat for Velthezok? Like, when does he spawn adds? What triggers it?
I'm going to set him up to spawn the adds at certain health percentage points for now but if anyone can find the original strat, I would appreciate it.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Okay folks, I made some changes to the Council Area and Velthezok.
#1. Velthezok has a loot table now. He has some nice stuff. I'm not sure I've got everything, but at least he has some cool stuff.
#2. In order to spawn him, you need to click on the masks. Originally you just walk over to the totem and if you had the stuff, it would automatically start the encounter. I AM NOT A FAN OF THIS. I would rather the players know they're about to start something rather than take their masks and force an event on them if they happened to wander past the totem. So this is INTENTIONAL. Don't bug it or I'll make the disappointed face.
#3. When he spawns, the other council members will despawn. As long as he's up, they'll continue to despawn even if their spawn timer resets. If you do run out their respawn timer (Currently set to 5 minutes), then you might see them blip in and despawn. That's the only way we can do it right now, so don't bug report that. It's currently intentionally until we can get pre-spawn checks in.
#4. At certain health percentage points, he will spawn adds.
So hopefully that's fun for you guys!
I might set the respawn to be faster just so you aren't grinding for hours trying to get the masks for everyone (Since loot is not per person currently).

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Firstly thanks for setting up hunter's league, not sure if I should be posting here but.....
I've finished off hunter's league on my disc, tho before you made changes with the Velthezok encounter, and to which I was going to mention a few things about the encounter and respawns, but seems you have been on the case with that anyway. I don't really remember the encounter despite having done the questline on all my characters, so I can't add anything there.
All seems in order with the armour and stats, not that I can even remember. But I am a little confused with the stat "+15 weapon damage", I don't seem to really remember this stat, although some vague memory seems to be telling me it's something to do with damage rating? or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Anyways, all seems working and I will be doing the questline with my other alts when I get round to it.

Wow, as Qalia fiend, really appreciate you getting to this quest line, thanks. Personally it's one of my favorite quests, despite the grindyness.
Re: The Hunter's League Progression
+15 Weapon Damage adds 15 to whatever damage is listed on the weapon. So if the damage says it's, for example, 100-115, it adds 15 on top of that. (115-130)
I didn't touch any of the weapons, so they are exactly as they were in Live. I don't know if they messed with them for F2P or what.

Re: The Hunter's League Progression
Ah, I didn't consider f2p. Nankara on live did the HL questline before f2p.
