Talked with Jakkal on IRC a bit, and offered to write a basic outline of how I think the Zalaz quest can be done.

Ring use:
-First, the usual check for QuestCurrent.
-Check target
-If minion of Zalaz:
- -CastSpell for the ring's attack
- -Increment a hidden objective randomly if not already done
- -If hidden objective is done:
- - -Check if Zalaz was already spawned and still up (GetQuestSpawn)
- - -Spawn Zalaz if not and use StoreQuestSpawn
-If (attackable)Zalaz:
- -CastSpell for ring's attack (same as above)
- -Zalaz's Death() function will mark quest complete
- - -Check player has completed summon objective first, so other players don't get their objectives out of order if they attacked Zalaz summoned by another player.
-If neither target, give wrong target message

Ring Spell:
-Precast: double check target is (attackable)Zalaz or minion
-cast function:
- -Get mob's max HP: GetAttributeMaxValue()
- -Calculate how much HP to take (I think it did 40% of HP, can set to exact numbers later if we want, after mob stats are final)
- -Hit target with SpellDamageTargets(), use parameters to ignore normal combat calcs

Today's work:

I tried to set up Unwilling Reason, but the scripting for that is pretty much beyond me. So I'm leaving that in the capable hands of Oncalupe. If you need to skip this step for now, just use .quest complete 7995

Discoveries Found - Complete

Inform the Magistrate - Complete. Also fixed the quest rewards so your class should get their class-specific shoulder pieces.

Infiltration, No Box Needed - Complete

Gather Solid Evidence Complete.

Warn The Priests - Complete. Class specific rewards are fixed now.

Note to self: After watching a Let's Play of IOD, just to make sure I get the details right, I noticed in the guy's chat some area enter/exit messages. I wrote them down so I wouldn't forget them:

Tentrees exit: You leave the farmland and focus on what lay ahead.

As you enter the burned village the smoke stings at your lungs.
The taste of ash lingers in your mouth as you leave the burned village.
As you enter Sun Village, you can see fear in the faces of the villagers.
A sense of renewed purpose fills you as you leave the village and her frightened citizens. (Sun Village)

As you approach the House of Shining Waves, you realize that the rising smoke and the din of battle are not a ceremony to Vothdar.

You leave the holy grounds and instantly feel uneasy.

A warm breeze welcomes you to the Shining Hills.

You feel your courage strengthen as you leave the cursed temple.

As you leave the Shining Hills, the warm breeze fades.

A sense of renewed purpose fills you as you leave the village and her frightened citizens. (Sun Village)

The soft music of a lute emerges from the home of Magistrate Gai.

As you leave the home of Magistrate Gai you hear the lute begin playing once more.

As you approach the encampment you suddenly feel cold. (Hobgoblin Encampment)

Unwilling Reason - Complete.

As of this posting, the ring you use during the quest is supposed to have a 10 sec cooldown. The anim triggers on the icon, but the server allows you to use it immediately. Once the item use sever code is updated to check for cooldowns, this will work as intended. Does not affect doing the quest though.

Tonight's Work:

Thanks to Oncalupe, Unwilling Reason works as well as we can make it work. (See above comment about the ring not having a working cooldown).

Knowing is Half the Battle - Complete. Fixed quest rewards. Oncalupe helped with the drop script too. It no longer drops in the order of 4, 2, 3, 1 anymore. Now it drops completely randomly.

Didn't get much done tonight.

Living on a Prayer - Not complete, but you can do it. I need the animation for praying, I couldn't find it. I suspect it's in the logs somewhere. I did find a hilariously sarcastic "Whoopideedoo" animation that I've used in its place. When we do find the proper animation, the timer should be 10s long. There is no access timer bar.

The Right Stuff - Started it, but set it so it's no longer acceptable. I'll work on this in the morning.

Good news, guys! I found the missing belt rewards for "The Source of Changes". They had unconventional names: Girdle of Many Dawns = Warrior, Belt of the Sun = Disciple, Girdle of the Sun = Cleric, Silken Threaded Sash = Sorc

I've asked for permission to rename these items so they match all the others (Such as Rake's Belt and Chevalier's Girdle).

Other Work:

The Right Stuff - Complete. Except a minor change. On the IOD, you get one freebie flying mount. We assume that this is a flag that's checked on the character to determine if they've had their freebie or not yet. Right now we don't have those kinds of checks or flags in place. So we're going to make this a quest reward. After the 10 minutes are up, you'll need to rent one from that point on. We'll revert this when we have flags and character checks.

The Shotaru - Complete

Ascension - Set up. Doing A Second Chance and Beyond the Glass first. (Should be complete, but haven't tested it yet).

A Second Chance - Complete. Wow, this one is complex, but didn't seem like it at first. Just some notes. I remember if you selected the wrong dialogue, Zalaz would toss you across the chamber. We don't have that functionality currently. So I could only set it up with a fireball attack and taking off a chunk of health. So anyway, you can summon Zalaz, hail him, go through the dialogue and get the item that gives you protection. Zalaz's Gift of Protection IS NOT SET UP YET. Iku Dai doesn't have any attacks yet, so it wouldn't matter much. But I haven't set up this item yet.

Beyond the Glass - Complete.

I will work on the side quests next.

Today's work:

Ascension - Complete. I have also added a special Pegasus reward for completing IOD. This will only be available for testing, and it will be removed when we eventually go live. But for now, I thought it would be a good 'thank you' for testing. So if you want/need a flying mount to just fly around VGO, come do the IOD quests.

Reclaimed Treasures - Complete. Originally this quest would just update when you opened the treasures. This is kinda confusing, so I set it up with an actual item. Works the same way, and complete otherwise.

Chicken Roundup - Complete. Though the prod's animation doesn't work quite right. Might need more work on it. Made the chicken illusion candy. Though this time it has a random size generator, so you could be a normal sized chicken, or a really big one!

We just ran into a problem with "The Source of Changes" and "Thief in the Night" in that everything looks right, but it suddenly stopped working. If you want to skip this quest, just use:
.quest complete 7954
.quest complete 7918

That will update both quests until we can figure out how to fix it.

I've suggested we decouple these quests like it was on IOD preF2P.
