VG Client reinstall
Hey guys, just want to float this by everyone in case anyone might know the cause.
I have a packed copy of the VG client that I know everyone else here uses because I found it through this website, and since it's zipped up nice and tight, it's a fresh unmodified copy of the game before sunset.
That being said, for some reason I have to keep constantly unpacking a fresh new copy, otherwise the game just crashes when it reaches character select. I don't know why, but if that's the only problem, the solution is fine and I'll take it. It seems to just randomly happen.
Anyways guys I'm just going on the game to feel at home again and check on the progress, but I already know I'll be blown away by the hard work being put in so keep up the good work guys! And thank you for doing this, I know if it means a lot to me, then it means a lot to other former VG players.

Honestly I'm not sure why it would keep doing that I'm using that same client on both my home and work computer and haven't had a issue. Do the logs show anything? There are also some ini files related to your account you can try deleting I don't have the names at the moment since I'm not at my computer.

Possibly configuration changes upon first launch from the fresh copy.
As Xinux suggested, logs should reveal information.
Try lock the configuration (make it read only) see if that helps.
Do you have a different system since the time you made the zip original?
