Details:
I just killed Kekvar in the caves of IOD, and his corpse is following me around and hitting me periodically. I turned autoattack on, hit him once for 1 point, and he stopped hitting me and his corpse despawned as it should have. There must have been some confusion between how he was represented (i.e. a corpse or a mob) and how he was acting (i.e. the corpse was still hitting me).

That one is really weird. No idea why it would have aggro like that.

I had this happen to me two more times right after I /bugged this one. Both of the other times it was with the stone dervishes. I was able to kill the first of them by turning on autoattack and doing 1 pt of damage, but I could not attack the second one (invalid target). It was slowly killing me, so I boosted speed ran out and camped. I'll try again tomorrow to see if I can recreate.

Edit: I was able to recreate this one more time today, this time with Harozda. I was able to polish off the corpse of Harozda with a hit, but was unable to get any other corpses to attack me. It seems odd that the first time in each session was with a named. I'll fiddle around with it some more later this evening.

I have a short video of the corpse attacking me and my killing it, if anyone cares (not that it shows anything that I haven't described above).

NT has been updated with a shot in the dark fix for this let me know if this still happens.

I took my Pally back into the cave. It took me 6 or 8 kills before I had it happen again. I did capture a video of it, but only the part after the mob was dead. Let me know if you're interested in the video, or if you want me to try to get a video with the whole kill, not just the after-death part.

I will try to get some more parameters around the bug. Is it only paladins? Is it only in the caves on IOD? etc

Update: I got a dead pangolin in Hathor Zhi to beat on me (still the pally), so it is not mob- or chunk-specific (not that I expected it was). I'll try to get on later and see if I can get a non-pally to do it.

If it helps, I get XP and loot from the mob when I kill it the first time, and then XP and loot again when I kill it the second time. It appears the server is confused: part of it thinks the mob is dead and part of it doesn't.

Think i found the issue and applied the possible fix to NT let me know if you see this happen again.

I tried this tonight and it is still happening. For a moment I thought it was actually worse, as I got it on 3 of the first 5 mobs I killed. However, I killed another dozen or so and didn't see it again, so I think I was just (un)lucky.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I haven't been able to get on for a few days.

I'm going to guess there is a timing issue between the time the npc lists itself as "dead" and the time it aggroes a character. The npc goes into its dead state but has already aggroed. Much of npc AI is on a timer to update, so things like this are possible.

We can look for spots to add extra checking to ensure that this gets eliminated.

Finally took the time to track this down, I think it should be fixed on the next update.
