Re: Thoughts on Lower Level Content
The Xennu tech stuff was "easy" to make as far as complexity goes, but farming the shards made it not worth it. I did tests on it since I was one of the people that complained about it, and you'd average 3 shards in an hour of non-stop killing on a rogue (So, lots of mobs). And you needed something like 30-50 shards for some of the stuff. You'd basically outlevel the stuff. The only good things with it were a waterbreathing mask, jump boots, and levitation cloak (if you were playing a class that didn't have these as buffs).
At some point they at least raised the drop rate, so you could average 12 in an hour on a rogue.

I did the Xennu tech stuff on two characters. My disc took the waterbreathing mask and stifle wand. My monk did pretty much everything usable. My favorite was the jump ring. I had a macro that would hotkey the Xennu jump ring, plus the Magi Hold jump ring, plus the monk jump ability that would launch me over pretty much any wall (Afrit, Ahgram, etc) from a standing start. By that time pretty much everyone in VG had a flying mount, so it was more amusing that useful.
