Character creation issues

    I played Vanguard at launch, loved it, but didn't have the time to play it. I'm going to try again now, I don't have more time necessarily, but I play to roleplay, and try to enjoy a different aspect as opposed to min/max rush endgame as I used to. So then, name and character is everything. I made a mistake when making my first character, not noticing that I hadn't selected my class apparently I went on to spend an hour tweaking every last bit of their physical nature only to find, upon entry into the Isle, I had picked the wrong class!

    I logged out, deleted, and started again however this time it tells me the First name is already taken!! Any way to get this back? Or is it lost to the server forever? Seems a bit rough.

    Hey there, Menahem and welcome back to Telon!

    There seems to be an issue with the names being removed from the database right now. As a RP'er, I understand the importance of the name, especially if the meaning of the name is interwoven into your character's back story. You have a couple options - you could try a variation of the spelling, you could give it a couple days for that particular spelling or you could create another character and petition in game or submit a petition for assistance through the help site - https://help.soe.com/ - you will just want to select Open A Service Ticket and go from there.

    I hope it goes well with your name Menahem. Would love to see you post an update when this gets looked at or resolved. I know I have some names I liked and used up the same way.

    I just wanted to update this; I was emailed today that my name had been freed from the lock out so hopefully here I come! Looking forward to playing. I also want to thank the GM's and support staff, even if it was a little slow, the email and customer service was very professional once it arrived.
