First, on behalf of the entire VGOEmulator team let me wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2015!

[b:2fyt3fgn]2014 Recap[/b:2fyt3fgn][/size:2fyt3fgn]
Even though VGOEmulator.net was truly born in Aug 2013, the project really began the day SOE announced Vanguard:Saga of Heroes was going to end. From that moment in late Jan 2014, the development team pulled off some of the most amazing, and unexpected, success at getting us not only into the World of Telon again, but all the extremely complex Unreal Engine analysis and replication needed to make the existing VG Client function with our brand new world. Unless you understand game development, you may not realize the enormous effort this was -- and why I am so very proud of our original core developers (Scatman, Xen, theFoof) for bringing New Telon to life. Continuing our effort with Volt, Lokked, Ratief, Faux, Blackstorm and jimbo's help, and new developers starting in 2015, we have an excellent chance of pulling this off.
While building a world was critical, the most important task of 2014 was collecting the data from the live game. I was pleasantly surprised by how many people [u:2fyt3fgn]fanatically[/u:2fyt3fgn] devoted their time to collecting data in those final 6 mos - which included rolling dozens of characters and playing the entire game from level 1 - 55, while our collector gathers the game progress. Again, it's something that unless you stared at the data as we have, you have no idea how immense that effort was. While ALL the collectors are [b:2fyt3fgn]Heroes of Vanguard[/b:2fyt3fgn], a few did stand out as extra-stellar in their efforts: falloutdc, Ily, Zewtastic, Faux, Raidan, snom and Moldew. Not to leave anyone out, but these folks submitted over 10 GIGABYTES of collected game content each, with falloutdc submitting 60GB alone! We could not possibly have done this without every one of our collected logs; so this community has a LOT to be thankful for.
[b:2fyt3fgn]Onward![/b:2fyt3fgn][/size:2fyt3fgn]
The Development team and I will be meeting throughout Jan 2015 to discuss our plan-of-attack for VGOEmulator this year. While I am pushing for a 75% systems implemented game, I realize everyone has their priorities. It is my hope that with so many members of this team, we can all contribute enough to VGO to meet this goal this year.
While the Developers are working on game features and playability, the Content Designers will also get to work building the encounters that made Vanguard such a fun game. The server ha a LOT of growth yet ahead of it just to support Content, so it will be slow going, but I'm hoping to have Starting Areas, their quests and small encounters done in 2015 - worldwide! (hoping)
[b:2fyt3fgn]Kudos to Testers![/b:2fyt3fgn][/size:2fyt3fgn]
During the road ahead, keep in mind that this is a game we are reverse-engineering and developing from scratch (and memory), most of us with a limited knowledge of game development itself, and a fading Community of Vanguard:Saga of Heroes fans. Every World Crash or client CTD brings us closer to a perfect solution for YOU -- so your patience and understanding is very much appreciated. Hats off to the Alpha/Beta testers that have already given their lives to making VGOEmulator better
[b:2fyt3fgn]Community[/b:2fyt3fgn][/size:2fyt3fgn]
Everyone is welcome to join us on IRC any time, or post your questions or knowledge here on the Development forums, or help us build the [url=http://vgoplayers.com/community:2fyt3fgn]VGOPlayers.com Community[/url:2fyt3fgn] which is eventually going to be your VG:SOH Community once the game releases.
With that, we thank everyone for their continued interest in our project. Let's kick ass in 2015!
