Waiting on Data from World Server

Any server listed as UP is certainly free for you to attempt to create a character on and log into! You aren't messing anything up! In fact, this is the only way we can squash bugs is by having people find (and Report!!!) them!

Well in that case I will head over to your bugs post and describe some of the things I have encountered. Seems to be somewhat of a pattern...sort of.

Yup me too, just sits on retrieving data. I'm happy (sad) to hear its more a general issue in code atm, then a settings issue or client side fub on my part. If there is anything you need from me regarding the server I set up for debugging purposes let me know, Im happy to submit if it makes a difference.

You can solve this by not having any characters on other "UP" servers. Delete your New Telon toons, you should be able to get to your own server until this problem is resolved.

Fair enough, Ill give that a whirl just to ensure my server is in fact playing nice. Although I think at this juncture, Ill be spending more time on the Official server, nice to chat up fellow Telonites and reminisce

Okay did as was suggested....and still cant enter the server I set up. For some reason when I only have characters on my server, the client freezes when bringing up the character list, no crash, just frozen, music playing. Not sure if my server is borked, might just delete the database and start from scratch with the latest build and see if that works. Any other suggestions?

Hi Art - re-update your SVN, wipe your database and rerun the opcode and worldserver queries and give it another shot. If it still doesn't work, perhaps we can connect on IRC over the weekend and we'll get you fixed up.

Tried what you suggested Lokked, but no dice

Kind of odd really,
updated SVN, dropped DB, got both world and opcode in no issues, server goes up can create character but if I try to log in. instant freeze. My server pane is showing the request and creation of the character, but that's as far as it gets. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Okay, just tried again with no other characters, only the one I made to test the server, when I launch client, the second it loads into the character select, it freezes, so Im guessing it must be something with the client and my server not synching up, Triple checked ports, all are forwarded as they should be, and I am getting a server up confirmation in both the server list and when My server initially goes live.

To get around the issue, I ended up adding another account in Account Management since you can have 5 of them. When I use my new account, I've been able to connect. It's at least worth a try.
