Re: doing Dahknarg and Halgarad
Basically this is a very wide open question regarding crafting because most of us here do not know the first thing about it. It is the same type of knowledge about raid encounters, the three different types of swamp armor (that would each have to be captured during questing or just the stats keyed in afterwards and linked to the visual armor types), or anything in the game that you don't know about (devs did not know about Learned Skills or Gestalts for instance).
The best explanation of what needs to be captured is this; you have a blank slate currently (the New Telon), what operations would you have to capture (packet sniff) in order to re-populate New Telon with all of the operations that you could do in Old Telon?
Now you are on the right track in separating the wheat from the chaff as far as combos / catalyst (once again guessing here). I think capturing the root recipes (probably very hard to recreate) are the most important, then capture the augments in a separate log (lack of a better term - easy to recreate if you know what they look like) in a separate log (lack of a better term - easy to recreate if you know what they look like). See what I am hinting at here?
There might be hundreds of recipes but only 40 augments that vary on stats imbued depending on the level of the item created. My suggestion would be to perhaps do one line of regular stat increases for say Strength at various item levels (say at 5 level intervals). Log this data and visually capture it with a screenshots. We can then see how the item level scaling works with one character stat, Strength. We then can apply this for all character stats akin to Strength. Where it gets wonky will be with stats like +Mana, +Armor, +Strikethrough, ect. Seeing how these stats scale would allow us to fill in the gaps as far as data goes for new Telon.
I could be wrong with all of the above but I am basing it on very rudimentary knowledge about crafting. Perhaps could you do a advanced crafting tutorial with Open Broadcaster Software so you can show us what is involved?

Re: doing Dahknarg and Halgarad
After re-reading Ily's posts, I realize he said exactly the same thing I did Carry on.
Re: doing Dahknarg and Halgarad
One of the things on my mind about crafting are the quests you get as you level to learn the different continental recipes.
Its been a long time since I did them. But I remember as an artificer having to go to some high level areas (relative to my level at the time) and inspect bricks.
I still remember it to this day as I revisit some of these areas like isle of madness and so forth.
The only craft I ever maxed out was artificer So I do not know if other crafts had similar quest lines.

Thanks for your replies everyone.
I now have an idea and I am pretty sure I can do it, or most of it in the time left if I make some concessions:
I not going to be able create every item, but I will focus on what I know to be the best at every tier. I will ignore anything I would never had made in the game except for just experimentation. Time is killer. Once I have achieved item collection, I will then focus on leveling up chars to collect progression. If there any with left over XP pots this is where I would gladly use them, I can stack 175% to make it faster.
I even think I know how to make sure I don't miss anything. Anyone with spare crafting mats I will gladly except them, you can mail them exmortis. Brains and Brawn has a big supply, but this is going to need more, especially extremely rare harvested nodes. I have a few GLs i still have contact with, I will see if they can donate what they have too.
Some info to help:
Crafing in Vanguard is broken up into tiers:
1-10 - only one refining catalyst can be applied, no rare or extremely rare upgrade
11-20 - one refining, and one powder can be applied when assembling item, rare upgrade available.
21-30 - one refining ,and one powder can be applied when assembling item, rare and extremely rare upgrades
31-40 - one refining, one secondary enhancement and one powder can be applied when assembling item, rare and extremely rare upgrades
41-50 - one refining, one secondary enhancement and one powder can be applied when assembling item, rare and extremely rare upgrades
51+ - Not a full tier, they added ancient dusts to make masterwork weapons/armor in one combine. Very limited scope
All through that are intermixed housing, guild house, and boat related stuff.
I will get started tonight.

Re: doing Dahknarg and Halgarad
Ex,
Thanks for tackling crafting. Its a big job. I just wanted to clear up some confusion about isxvg. It is by no means required. It was just recommended because there is a craft script that automates the whole process. So if you had a lot of WOs to grind out but not much time, its useful. Just set it up and let it run while you do other stuff or while you work. It will get work orders, run between npcs, buy crafting reagents, sell the junk rewards, and you can customize it to craft to whatever quality level you want.
I used the isxvg diplo script to take my char from 1 to 50 and complete all my prestige faction grinding for the examplar quest in 2 days. It woud have taken me a lot longer if isxvg wasnt there. Got it all logged along with the complete diplomat saga for the emu.
I not going to be able create every item
Here's one part of my previous post I retracted, that might also alleviate some headache. Note that I do not know the VG crafting system at all, so this is merely experience talking, from a data perspective.
We're going to try and collect every item in the game via in-game links if we have time to do so before Sunset. With that effort, we will know all outcomes of rewards for crafting, diplo, adventure and harvesting - because everything is just an Item. IE., you put a tin cluster and coal together and a rusty dagger pops out - those 3 things are still just items, nothing is actually being manufactured here.
What we do not need is every single item created that can be created. That's to say if there are 7,500 Bo Stick recipes, we don't need 7,500 items created - we need 1 item from every crafting style (for functionality) and any unique things you can do to an item during the manufacturing process - ie., apply a tint, inject an augment, destroy it, etc. Again, all functionality collects.
For Data, the important stuff:

For Data, the important stuff:
- The crafting Quests (work orders?) - treat them as any other quest - we mostly need the "flow" to rebuild them.
[/*1gkg24h8]
- Recipe lists - complete list of what items and quantities are required to manufacture the resultant item.[/*
1gkg24h8][/list:u]
Xinux did some work in parser to extract Recipe data, but I feel we are missing info still so we have to investigate if we're missing something, or collecting the data wrong (or, god forbid, our collector dropped it due to channeling issues).
Basically, I think your plan is solid. Just don't waste your time making things that are not quest-related (imo). Get their recipes, that should be enough.

I hope they are useful and not just trash
