Re: MySQL Server has gone away
I did something stupid, forgot to reset the timer variable bah. Not sure if that would cause a crash though. Give it another try.

Re: MySQL Server has gone away
For some odd reason, on 6-24-2014, LoginServer suddenly started having this problem too, which is impossible since it already has a heartbeat.
Edit: Some facts I just discovered:
Edit: Some facts I just discovered:
- Can't be my DNS, because I am using IP addresses for MySQL host addresses[/*

- Login already has a heartbeat, triggers every 5 minutes - and this is what's failing the connect[/*
3tuos769]
- Usually happens after long period of idle time (no connections)[/*
3tuos769]
- It (coincidentally) happened just as I made an unrelated DNS change in my environment (but i'm using IPs)[/*

- Could be a Windows thing, or maybe when I am copying the Raw data to the gameserver databases ?[/*

Just find it odd that on Tue, this started. I don't think I have been doing much on my systems that day.
Re: MySQL Server has gone away
I changed client pointers to smart pointers, don't "think" that could cause something like that though. Also, DB Project has been having some problems connecting it looks like the last couple of days, I restarted login and world. Still isn't up.

Shit, well this clearly isn't a code issue then. No reason all my emulator boxes would suddenly start forgetting where MySQL is unless I screwed up my DNS by simply adding an A record for another machine entirely. I'll work on that this weekend, get everything fixed once and for all.

Re: MySQL Server has gone away
Will wonders never cease? I think for the first time in my 25 year IT career, a problem happened while I was staring directly at the machine having the problem
Seems my Gameserver MySQL VM located in my cluster is freaking out, losing it's NIC, causing all my game servers (12 in all) to lose their connections. Why? Because I think I'm fancy, and have multiple NICs in my hosts to serve iSCSI SAN storage and multipathing - and I think my old ESXi host is finally shitting the bed Things will be up and down for the night, including this website (sorry) but I'll get things back running asap.
