VGOEmu Wish List Forum
With sunset quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to get input from experienced gamers who played Vanguard: Saga of Heroes before those memories fade into obscurity. This forum, called "Wish List", will serve as just that -- your wishes for a better Vanguard. FYI, the only reason I am doing this is because the real game is going away forever -- and we'll soon be the only game in town. So, why not make it better?
There are a few categories of "complaints" I've seen repeatedly among the VG:SOH communities:
This, for me, is the most exciting part about building an Emulator of a live game: the ability to customize, tweak, and even fix things. Vanguard (imo) was horribly broken and incomplete in many ways, yet thousands of players still loved it. If I could have one dream-come-true, it would be to produce a playable emulator that exceeds the live experience. With your help, we might be able to pull that off.
Stuff we can do:
A short list:
Stuff we cannot do:
Like with most things, there's a "but..." - and this is a pretty big BUT.
We cannot change things that the VGClient.exe cannot handle (and by "we", I mean the core VGOEmu dev team) :
Just know this going into your suggestions, because not all things can be done. Rather, focus your energies on telling us about the nerfs you hate, or the re-scaling of content (mobs, levels, difficulty) or broken quests. Ideas about new abilities, or an SOE idea that never got implemented... this is what I want to know about.
Stuff you should do:
What I'd like to get from you are your thoughts of this game as hosted by SOE, and what you would change if you could (even if it's not possible, give me your ideas anyway).
In this forum, create a new post of any particular topic and detail out what you want to see, get input from your fellow community members, and - if the team determines it is feasible - we will see about making that happen in VGOEmulator.

- Not enough content
- Gimped / Nerfed content or game experience
- Broken Classes
- Incomplete features / broken promises

Stuff we can do:
A short list:
- Empty zones - we can fill them with tons more content, not a problem
- Adjust content to be as easy or difficult as we want; per server
- Broken Classes / Skills - anything that the "world" calculates, we can fix
- Custom Abilities, Items, Quests, anything that is data can be customized
- Extensive Rule System to make each public world truly unique
- ...and the list goes on...

We cannot change things that the VGClient.exe cannot handle (and by "we", I mean the core VGOEmu dev team) :
- Meaning, we cannot add entirely new systems to the code if the client is ignorant of them
- We cannot add entirely new zone maps (vgr) files
- We cannot change a thing about the client EXE or how it performs because we do not have the right to do so
