Crafting is in. Please READ THIS.

Crafting is now in game, but with some Caveats. It is in a VERY EARLY STATE. So Please read this carefully, if you bug report stuff we know about, I will give you the disappointed face -> >:|

KNOWN ISSUES:

#1. Crafting Quests are only set up on Isle of Dawn right now. Crafting instructors and all that are also only set up on IOD right now. If you want to do crafting, go to Isle of Dawn. The very first quest starts with Veteran Sixfish in the starter area (He's the guy that gives you the first real adventuring quests.)

#2. ONLY quest recipes are set up in full. VERY FEW recipes outside of that are set up. ALL RECIPES are on the trainers. We cannot tell the client not to display recipes that aren't ready yet. This includes Work Orders. No work orders other than what was needed for the intro quests are set up yet.

#3. If you try to make an item on a recipe that is not set up yet, it will let you do the entire recipe. At the very end, it will tell you that there's no result associated with that recipe. DO NOT BUG REPORT THESE. WE KNOW. Each recipe has to be set up manually in a very, very time consuming process. They will not be set up for a while.

#4. The actual crafting is BARE BONES. Progress is based mostly on a dice roll + skill calculations. But a bad roll on an action with a VERY HIGH PROGRESS could be lower than a great roll on an action with a VERY LOW Progress. Right now crafting is NOT predictable in this way.

#5. ALL Complications are on the table. In Live these Complications were set up in Tiers. You could get a T4 complication doing a T1 recipe. Yes, sometimes this will stop you from completing the recipe.

#6. Some of the animations are messed up. We are still working on this, you don't have to bug report them. (A lot of them are complication grumps/cries/etc during regular actions)

#7. Table setup does not automatically put up what you NEED on the table. You have to do all that manually.

#8. It doesn't seem to care what tools you're using. It also doesn't care if you move them around your toolbelts during the crafting process. It also doesn't move the tools used from the toolbelt to the one being used. This should have been fixed with the 11-26-18 Update.

#9. Crafting complications that affect progress aren't knocking down progress.

#10. If you get more than one complication, the additional complications will show the same information as the first one, until the first one clears. Then they'll display the proper information.

#11. I went through all the quests for all three crafting classes and everything worked for me. But I found one quest that was no longer working (The crafting recipe had no result). If you find anymore of these, please let me know. You can /bug or send me a forum PM, or tell me in game if you see me on.

#12. You cannot change your crafting class right now. It will be available in the future, but not currently.

#13. Some recipes are on the trainer that should require a flag to learn, or are supposed to be on only one or two trainers (such as the Hand Cannon and Gwartak stuff). Currently we do not have these as requiring flags and they're on all trainers.

I think that's everything. If I've left anything out, I'll add it here.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

#1. Make sure the quests are clear, that POIs point to where they should point to, that you can accept and turn in.
#2. Make sure quest recipes give you the right items for quests.
#3. Make sure when you turn in the quests, that the proper items are taken.
#4. Artisan's Saga: Ruthless Hunter - I cannot remember what happens here. I know you do a thing at the temple entrance with those NPCs and mobs there, but I cannot remember what happens or what you do. If anyone remembers, please let me know.

I also need some crafters to help me explain to Xinux how the process worked. From what I recall, you could basically predict how well your progress was going to be, especially work orders. It was the same repetitive stuff, until you would level or get skillups, then you'd get more progress, better quality, etc. But there wasn't a lot of variation in progress.

Anytime something big is added, you should expect crashes.

Seems to be working fine thus far. I assume bare bones means the skill sliders are no functioning at the moment (+ locked -). Just wanted to confirm that.

Again thanks for the time and work you guys have put into this!

Yeah I don't think the skills do anything right now. I know gear doesn't matter at all. Basically you can do crafting on a base level (Setup, go through the process, get the item), but a lot of the details and nuances aren't in yet.

I don’t know if you all have tried searching YouTube under the following search: Vanguard saga of heroes crafting

There is a ton of cool videos on the crafting that bring back memories big time.

When it shows "Programmer error:" while attempting to select crafting ingredients, is this something you guys want reported? It's happening very regularly. I have to close the window and open it back up, generally several times, before the error will go away and it will allow me to select the ingredients I need in order to complete the recipe. Sometimes it will also tell me that I don't have the specific ingredient needed (but will instead say "you don't have" and then give a complication term vs the name of the item I supposedly don't have) even though it's showing up on the table. I'm sure you guys already know about these issues, but I figure it can't hurt to bring them up just in case.

Yeah, that's one we know about. We thought we fixed it, but it's showing up again. I know it comes up the most if you put something on your table and then remove it. There's a list of known issues here: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=4302

If you do bug report that one, be very, very specific of what you did before it popped up. Don't just tell us you put stuff on the table and it gave the error. What stuff did you put on the table? Did you remove anything from the table? Did you put something on the table twice? Did you remove one of those things?
