Let's Talk Mekalia

Okay so, Mekalia was one of the starter areas in the original version of VG. At some point, they cleared all the NPCs out of it, and we assume they were going to make a raid zone out of it. Unfortunately, a lot of the information about the original Mekalia was lost.

Vanguard:SOH sites seem to be dropping a lot lately, we just recently lost the official forums. So I think we really need to work on pulling together as much information we can. We'll need quest information, we'll need location information, we need to know what NPCs were where and what quests they offered.

A lot of this might be rebuilt on memory alone, so let's start discussing it while we still remember, while we still have information.

If you find any information on Mekalia, copy it here or put it on the Unleashed Wiki: http://unleashedgaming.net/wiki/

Personally, I was never fond of gnomes, so I never started a character there. Silky Venom has information on Mekalia, some of the quests, some of the NPCs, and where they were located. Let's grab all we can.

Any of this info relative to the original version? I think Gamepressure is like a VG Pompeii, as they went offline long before some of the destructive changes.

That's a good a place to start as any. We should record that info here or on the wiki (or both) so we have it locally.

Added everything from there, although the list of NPCs and quests seems incomplete. Not that adding more prop NPCs would be an issue; roll your face across the keyboard and you'll fit the general naming scheme.

Can add maps if there's an upload option somewhere.

I'm going to sit down and try to figure out the wiki tomorrow so you guys can do whatever you need to on it.

I'll see if I can figure out a better main page too so it's easier to look through the info.

I am not sure why but I missed this post when it went up. Will be on the look out for more Mekalia stuff. I worked on Qalia 1-5 quests from Silky Venom last week and it had a few things from Mekalia in it but not much. Guess it wasnt a starter hot spot.

Mekalia and the Kurashasa starting place should definitely take priority given that a lot of this stuff likely won't be found in the collectors' data.

Haven't had a chance to really dig into this to see how much is there, but at least there is a list of quests.

That seems to be a pretty good site. it has the starts of the quest dialogue. Between this page and the one from http://vanguard.gamepressure.com/maps.asp?ID=80 we should be able to cobble it back together and make up the last half of the quests. Great find. I dug around for a few days and couldn't find anything new.

I found this old video taken during the VG beta. not much to be seen in the video other than where about in Mekalia a new player would start as well as the mobs in that area. I thought I'd put this here in the off chance that it may help at all.
