Quest question
So I have been turning it in my mind what all the content development project is going to cover and it dawned on me most likely something to do with getting the quest content ready. So I was wondering if any of the original quest content for the game is available in files somewhere or if its all gone? I have been poking around the web looking for quest walkthrough sites still existing and all of that stuff is pretty much gone for save for the random blurb here and there. So does all of this stuff have to be rewritten. Just a curiousity as I've noticed none of the NPCs seem to have any quest info when you click on them.
Re: Quest question
I didnt have time to do a whole lot of searches this morning, but it seems like http://thetelonproject.wikidot.com/start is working. I researched a couple items and quests on it and seemed to be all good. The links to Xanadu worked for me also. They have a lot of items in there database. I dont know if its as much as was already documented, but it seems functional. didnt get to check the other links, but maybe they have some useful info as well.
http://vanguard.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page seems to be functional as well.

Re: Quest question
I found Silky Venom to have the most info that I can find so far. They have whole quest walk throughs in all spheres, though its not a complete list http://wiki.silkyvenom.com/index.php/Main_Page. This site seems to have a very comprehensive list of adventure quest but no walk throughs or other information that I could find. http://vanguard.gamepressure.com/quests.asp I tried the wayback machine to see if I could find things from websites like vgtact.com but really only pulled up pages of random discussions, not much of use. I'm thinking this info might need to be scavenged soon because there were a few sites up at sunset that had really good info that are gone now. Can't remember the site names now but one of them had the faction mount info on it. One had some decent quest walk throughs and craft info.

Re: Quest question
By walk throughs I meant ones containing the origional quest text as well.

Yeah that would be nice. I haven't found much in the way of actual quest text. Mainly just walk through and rewards.

Re: Quest question
Part of the Collection effort last year was to "play the game entirely", so any data that was sent from SOE servers to a players client (collector) was captured. This means, if they ran the quest, we have the dialogs and requirements and rewards. It is not a 100% coverage, but it is quite a bit.
What I am working on currently (for the Content team) is auto-generating LUA scripts based on collected Dialog and Quest text. It won't be perfect, but it's better than writing all the dialogs by hand.
And there are thousands... examples:
Simple Dialogs (statements, responses, over 98,000 hits)
Dialog Responses (your answers to the NPCs statements)
Quest dialogs (Quest name, summary, objectives, over 129,000 hits) So yeah, we have *some* data

That's actually pretty impressive that you have that much information. Looking back, I wish I hadn't quit when I read the sunset announcement. I tried to play a couple more times, but just couldn't force myself to do it. I kept hearing that VG would not be able to be emulated, so I kind of just gave up. I wish I hadnt, and j really regret not helping to collect data. How was I to know that yall were going to be emulator superheroes?

Re: Quest question
I did the exact same thing, Glenzig. I really wish I had known this project was going on. Playing was so depressing after they announced the sunset I just couldn't bring myself to log in very much.
Re: Quest question
A friend and myself have been working on importing info from other wiki's into our own -> http://unleashedgaming.net/wiki/index.p ... =Main_Page Not sure if you guys have access to this, but this is all we've got so far: http://unleashedgaming.net/wiki/index.p ... l:AllPages
If anyone would like to add to it, just let me know, and we'll set you up with the ability to edit the site. We've been trying to grab what we can from the vanguard wikia and silky venom. (And other sites)
I was going to give this wiki database to John when he wanted it, so we'd have two copies of it, and one for New Telon.
