You may wish you hadn't said that once we get things done! The XP curve will be a lot like launch (very slow).

I'm pretty sure that 99.99% of mobs in VG were not linked. Linked mobs were just so very rare (mostly event stuff). I had envisioned that mobs would use the faction system to assist (or when killing other NPCs). IE, if a mob is attacked then each NPC within /say range (or whatever) would check there...

I don't have the ability to add files to the VS project. All I can do is add them to the makefile.

Durability is a very difficult thing to have if you don't have enough players though. You also don't want end game gear disappearing. If an item takes 6 months to get you don't want it going poof in another month.

I know that items still have the fields needed, but I'm pretty sure that the UI has had all of that stuff removed. Part of removing that was also the change from item weight filing bags to the current slot based bags. So there were major changes that happened at that time.
Re: Crafting
I plan on tackling the crafting system after my current pieces are finished (at least that is my hope). I'm also hoping to figure out a way to have better, and more, crafting quests in the game. I'm happy to hear about any idea to make crafting batter.

I actually found this issue as the entire client must be reinitialized when this happens. It happens when you log in before your character object is unloaded from the server. That happened a lot on live.
In fact, once you camped, if you hit '/' it would bring up your default chat box. It didn't/doesn't work until you camp though.
