Re: DaybreakGames official agreement with Project 1999

Wasn't the problem with VG is the Unreal engine? So they cannot give permission without also getting permission from Epic games, who isn't going to authorize it without getting their percentage of the profits (which their isn't any, but I don't think they care).

Re: Moorgard to Answer Questions
I read the original post as "He would not" answer questions instead of "He would not" mind answering questions. I was wondering why you were doing this lol
I was thinking the same thing haha. The wording of the statement is a little off:
I asked if he would ...

Re: Setting up home server

I'm currently using Ax Classic repack, which is basically a one clink install, a few edits to the XML, and your up and running in less than 10 minutes. Of course that is Windows based, so not sure if its even possible to install it on Linux. I also considered using a cloud server from a company ...

Setting up home server

I've googled the hell out of this, and I'm still not sure which direction to go in. I have been having a blast hosting my own EQ server. Only the wife and I play it when we can. It's always been on my computer because, who cares. No one else is ever going to log in. BUT...as anyone knows who plays ...

Our current installations

What is the opinion, or suggestion as to what we should do with our current VG installation (folders). Just move it for now? I don't want to mess anything up for when we are able to assist with this project.

Re: Since I don't know....

Well if this work takes years to complete, we will be of more use. Both my wife and I are currently in college as Freshman working on our computer science degrees. No help now, but hey, in the future!

Re: Since I don't know....

This is interesting. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a ton of work. Doesn't sound like much the uneducated can help with but my wife and I will volunteer for any low level stuff that can be passed on, now or in the future.

Since I don't know....

I will ask. How exactly are you doing this? I mean, without the code isn't this nearly impossible? I am not well versed in the technical aspects of emulators, but I thought the only reason an EQ emulator was possible was because someone leaked the code. How much is possible without code? Now I've ...

Correct it appears. Forums are still up today, but read only.
