[edit] Creating the new page

To create the page, use the Search box in the left column of the Wiki. Type in the exact name of the quest (using the correct capitalisation of the letters) and press Enter or click Go.

The Wiki should display a message saying that the page does not exist and offering you the chance to edit it.

Click the Link to open the page and start editing.

[edit] Quest Header

The first thing you must do is copy paste some boilerplate text into the edit box.

There are two versions depending on whether the Quest is a Racial Tutorial Quest or not:

[edit] Racial Tutorial Quest Template

==Overview==
{{RacialTutorialQuestHeader

|factionchanges={{FactionChanges
}}

}}

[edit] Additional Quest details

Once the quest header has been filled in, you should copy the following text into the edit window:

==Game Description==

==Walkthrough==

==Dialogue==

===Quest Offering===

===NPC===

===Quest Completion===

==Parleys==

[edit] Game Description

Under the Game Description heading you should copy the bulleted list of steps and the text that follows it from the Quest journal.

[edit] Walkthrough

The Walkthrough section should be used to enter any details to help players find npcs, or to warn them about anything unusual that may happen whilst doing the quest.

[edit] Dialogue

The Dialogue section contains all dialogue text displayed by npcs before, during and after the quest.

The Quest Offering section should be used for any text that the npc who offers the quest displays before you accept the quest plus any text displayed in the quest journal above the bulleted list of steps.

For each Parley you engage in during the quest, you should create an ===NPC=== heading (using the correct name of the NPC), and enter the text displayed during the Parley.

The final Quest Completion section should contain any text displayed by the final npc you hail to finish the quest. This may or may not be the same npc who gave the quest.

[edit] Parleys

The final section contains details of all Parleys you need to do during the quest.

For each Parley you should copy the following text into the edit box:

===NPC===
{{Parley
|npc=
|station=
|presence=
|skill=
|conversation=
|title=
|deck1={{Deck}}
}}

You should replace NPC in the heading with the correct name of the NPC, and then fill in the information after each = sign as follows:

npc Enter the name of the NPC (without [[ and ]])
station The Station the NPC belongs to: Academic, Clergy, Crafter, Domestic, Merchant, Noble, Outsider, or Soldier
presence The minimum presence required to engage in the Parley
skill The skill level of the NPC
conversation The type of conversation: Entertain, Convince, Gossip, Interview, or Incite
title The title of the parley (this is displayed in the initial hail window where you click to start the parley)
deck1...deck10 The names of the cards the NPC uses

[edit] Finishing up

Once you have entered all of the information you have, you should click the Show preview button. This will enable you to see how the quest will look when others visit the page.

If you have made any mistakes you can correct them now (and then use Show preview again to check the results of your amendments).

Once you are happy with the results, click Save Page.

Note: If any of the Parleys you have entered use cards that are not yet listed on the DiploWiki, you will see a broken link in the parley details that says something like Template:Name of the Card. Do not worry about this. It will display correctly once the information for the card has been entered. If you have the details for the card, see Adding a page for a Card for details of how to create the pages needed.
