When we hail a "common" non-aggro NPC it behaves the same way as when we left-click or double-click it: it opens up a dialog.
(Containing for example a quest option or a merchant option.)

But how was the behavior for hail'ing
  • A mailbox? Did it behave the same as right-clicking, i.e. open the mailbox window, or did it just write 'You say, "Hail, Mailbox." ' in chat?[/*:m:p34cgzbz]
  • A crafting table? Did it behave the same as right-clicking, i.e. open the select crafting recipe window, or did it just write for example 'You say, "Hail, Forge." in chat?[/*:m:p34cgzbz][/list:u]

You know i don't think i ever hailed a mailbox or any crafting object. Think cause it would be silly talking to a mailbox. Lol

I am almost positive it did not report Hail, a Mailbox. Going to guess that the entity_types could be used to filter what would respond in what manner. Ie., NPCs respond, but tables and objects did not.

It just said "Hail, Mailbox!" and "Hail Forge" and the like. Had to be right clicked on IIRC.
