New Game Direction/Player owned game
Hello, first let me say i loved this game, for me it was everything it was cracked up to be. It definitely satisfied the sense of adventure in a game i always wanted, a massive world, couldn't zoom thru levels, adventures everywhere you went, so many things to do.... Epic!
Just had some idea how to actually resurrect this monster of a game.
How about a Player owned Game. So Players pay for the updates by donations, in game nop-game play purchases, maybe real-world economies like Entropia Universe they been around since 2003, or somehow incorporate a crypto coin into the game somehow? etc.... Players pick what they want upgraded, new content, ypdate schedule, whatever choices they could have about things, etc and the team works on a freelance basis.
How long have there been cries from gamers about what to update, content, fix bug, stuff ignored, etc... Just being able to advertise all the aspects of that is big deal, kind of the first, no one is doing that(correct?) and that attracts people.
As for the Game, could the code be upgraded to current unreal engine with A.I.? Save costs. Graphics are fine for me, but...hey look at Minecraft
Well, need a player base, that's easy we all know how to do that hype the crap out of a game, lol. Serious though advertising and marketing is very important, how much you think you need double it or triple it. I have had many online businesses and lack of advertising dollars is what did most of them in. Back to that later. 100% needs name change EpicQuest, Adventious Exerutious(just made up words, with no meaning lol) or anything else.
So as Marketing goes, hype player owned, hype the epicenes of the game. Hardest, toughest, biggest, most, intricate etc game you will ever OWN. 1st player owned game. 30 million dollar game for "free" (i know that not alot in game terms, but hype dont care about that) You control the content. not your snowflake games of today. Voting Rights. 1st Non profit mmorpg. The game is a Beast of things to do and talk about....
You can push Press Releases out for like $40 to 100s of thousand sites for distribution with sites like fivver, upwork, etc. I have done it several times. Every week another P.R. Greatest crafting system, open world, greatest other aspects of the game. You can hype anything. have Players or guilds win development votes,
The biggest problem is getting money to throw away at advertising and the current state of the game. The would have to be back to at least last updated, even better if updated to current to market. No matter how you look at it gonna need ad monies, but now a days 50k is massive if you are savvy and know what you are doing you could bombard social media platforms for a good few months. Maybe a lifetime membership of $10-15 to get the money for the development team start up working on the game, if you dont pay your guy Dies after a year, incorporate into game, guest for the immoral elixir, hmmm
How many to the original dev, programmers, designer are still around, older, maybe retired with nothing to do? I would imagen this game is special to them in some wait love or hate it. Maybe they would really want to try to resurrect it for free, or throw in capital. Platform like Kickstarter, if you have a plan.
Just some ideas, like i said i loved this game, i would love to play a live version of this again full of people.

get influx of ad dollars 10k gets 40.2K - 116.2K views, 12k=72.5K - 209.5K views in a month on FB/Insta ad platform, you can get more detailed and it will go to more people. SO 100k 6 months for ad to get 10k ppl to donate $10, investment in the game.
hype the crap out of it Gaming news is kind of slow so they will pick up PR after PR.
game "relaunch" when ad $$$ runs out
collect donations and in game sales till first update.
1st update everyone who has not donated, gets a 1 time small fee for life time membership, then they donate for upgrade and voting rights
Introduce aging where new characters in accounts get weaker over time until they get membership or die after a year.
With so many things in this game, donations could keep this thing running for years, maybe decades once A.I. learns how to code
