Hiya guys and gals,

I played the game in Aug 2023, mostly checking in and such. Was hoping to start playing again and I logged in today and all my toons were gone, which I had been expecting for a long time =)
So I tried to create a new character(several times). I can login, get to character select, choose race/class and get to the Choose Isle of Dawn or Home location. Click NEXT and I get the message I must choose a server but the window screen with the server list is blank and would not let me progress.
Do I need to reload, client, launcher, game files, etc?
Tried reading game logs....heh. I didnt see any glaring errors in the 20% I understood.
I logged into my account and went to check on status. Everything looked OK. Decided to delete the characters in "my characters" screen. Thought those might be hosing new character builds.
I ...."Fiddled" with everything and set my options to not hide any servers. Same thing. Almost every time I get stuck at that point.

Guessing since my toons were gone you have performed cleanup/upgrades, etc and all that and MAYBE I need to do something on my end?
Again, I played fine 2 months ago

We have not done a wipe in years, so your characters should still be there. Most likely it's a networking hiccup between you and the server. The client is extremely picky about how the data between it and the server is handled. If there's any issue with that, you can get things like you are seeing. One of the team members has also been having issues recently, where it's been fine for most others. Unfortunately there's not much we can do about it right now. Hopefully over time we can tweak the connection handling on the server to reduce these issues.

If you log in to the Account Management app on the Portal, you should be able to see what characters are linked to your account, providing you have the right account info. I was just in there today, in fact, seeing that I myself still existed

On the My Accounts and My Characters tabs, you (should) have options to delete stuff and start over, which may help you create a new character if something got buggered in data.

I was in the Mgmt app and saw my toons but I decided to start fresh so I wiped them there. Some of those I had were from 2015-2016 so thought it was time to delete since I was having trouble creating new ones.

That was most likely the case Oncalupe.

Created a new toon last night successfully with no hiccups so must have been glitchy. Died a couple times in game so that part works fine !! hehe
