Insane buff to APW mobs DPS output?

Hello all, just a question for the devs on APW.

Ive been away from VGOE for a while, and recently returned. I have several well geared level 50s, from back when we had full access to all gear on the brokers. All of their gear basically is the red tier. I knew I wanted to try and test out some stuff at level 50, with nicely geared characters, in some of the tougher dungeons. One of the spots I would go was Ancient Port Warehouse. The mobs were level 53, but with the nice gear I had I could manage. I would pull with my tank, alt tab to healers, DPS, and back to tank. Careful pulls, one mob at a time, and normally did not get too deep into the dungeon sometimes just stayed in front room.

Today I go to APW, get all buffed, and pull my first mob...it basically 5 shots my tank before I can even get alt tabbed to one of my healers. Whoa... So second attempt, pulled with tank, put on some taunts over time, alt tab to healer. Tank is getting hit so hard can barely keep him alive with healer, then mob aggros to healer from healer having to spam constant heals and kills healer then tank. Whoa again...

Did the APW mobs get a insane buff to their DPS output? And if so, why? Or maybe where those mobs not at full output before and now are up to full power? Thanks for any help on this, and thanks for all of your hard work on bringing back this awesome MMORPG.

Over the past month or so, we started classifying mobs from normal outdoor spawns, to dungeon spawns, dungeon rares, raid spawns and raid rares. (And some others I might be missing but you get the idea).

The 'why' is that these are raid mobs and shouldn't be soloed. We are trying to make the game as it was in Live and this was one of the inevitable updates.

Hey ya Jackkal.

Well although Im just one person, this was a group of 5 of my well geared 50s on multiple accounts with me alt tabbing between them, not me trying to solo anything on just one character. As I said the mobs now are hitting so hard even on my fully buffed tank, he died before I could even alt tab to heal him which normally he could tank one of these mobs decently before. But to be fair I guess even well geared 50s should probably have trouble with level 53 six dotters?? But its a >>MASSIVE<< change from how it was before so if the mobs were normal before they are no where near it now. Were the mobs previously not how they should have been as far as DPS output from default Vanguard mobs in that dungeon?? Thanks for any help on this, and for your fast response and good work on this awesome old game.

APW is a raid zone, not just a dungeon. It's meant to have a full raid of players going through it, and that means multiple healers working to keep a tank alive. So no, they were no where near 'normal' before, and still aren't.

Remember that the Emulator is still in an 'Alpha' stage, where core features are being added in and adjusted. Combat will be changing a lot before we're 'done'. While we're trying to keep the game playable the whole way, up until now players were massively OP versus the mobs. This change was just one step along the way toward how it was in Live. Some will make NPCs tougher, some will make players tougher.

Thank you both for the fast responses, and all of the hard work you all are doing to bring back one of the best MMORPGs to life.
Thats a good point, I keep forgetting also that APW is actually a raid not normal dungeon. Combine that with the fact that even though most of my 50s are "redded out" with mostly full red tier gear, they are still 3 levels under those mobs right at the front of the dungeon and I think maybe there are even higher level mobs later cant remember. IF the APW dungeon is one of those where the healers have to constantly spam heals just to keep the tank alive, then you have got the mobs DPS pretty good haha. Thank you all again for the good work, on this awesome old game.

Raid mobs ( multiple group mobs ) are inst-death to a solo player it was the red armor alone that kept you standing as long as you did.
