New Acct Login Issues- Bad username/password

Setup new account for both the forums and the game today. I'm using the 4.o launcher downloaded from your site (one of the 2 clients I DL's has it included already) and I've downloaded and tried 2 different client versions from this website. Followed directions here, scoured the forums and setup port forwarding. I've also reset my password and I've got everything installed with no errors. When I launch via the ( I tried launching it as admin and not) VGOEmuLauncher.exe and enter my acct name and password it says "bad username/password" even though it's entered correctly. I also noticed that a folder I've seen mentioned here in the guides was never created and doesn't exist in my "C:\users\xxxxx\appdata\ "location. Also, don't see a file named "vgemu-world.xml" that is also mentioned in the install guides here. Any assistance would be appreciated as I'd really like to check this game out. Thank you.

If you've been scouring the forums, then you might have picked up outdated info, so I'm just going to go through everything to be sure. (Also for future users that might find this thread.)

vgemu-world.xml is for the server, it's not part of the client or launcher.

I don't think anything gets put into the AppData folder, that might be old info or for the server setup.

There are two accounts that are separate from each other. The forum account is only for these forums. The game account has no direct link and only used in the launcher.

The client you downloaded with the launcher included is the latest, so should work as-is. Make sure you're not trying to run VG from the \Users, \Downloads, or similar system folder.

Ive never had so much trouble trying to log into a game. Im getting the same error. I have 2 different accounts for the forum and the login. Ive also repeatedly tried to delete my account that ive never logged into (other than the forum account) and i get a repeated error that my "current" password is incorrect.

Just to make sure I'm reading this right, you are not trying to log into the game with your forum accounts, right? They are separate from game accounts. You can log into or create a game account here: https://vgoemulator.net/index.php?p=accounts

New user here, the only trouble I had was realizing that the server and forums had separate account systems.

To be fair, I had less trouble with getting online with VGO Emulator than trying to navigate getting online with Valofe's "Riders of Icarus", a game purportedly still in production. I was getting "username is invalid" and come to find out the installer on the "Global" Valofe website doesn't work, you have to install one of their other games first to get it to install properly. That's what I call "trouble"...
