Why not make a 2nd interface with minimal display detail and show the scrolling dmg and other cool stuff. I assume you are using one of the custom UI's so making multiple user interface layouts is easy.

No custom UI.

My feeling is that people who have not played the game, their initial attraction would be the graphics; hence no UI. I plan on making on montage of just cool no UI clips and then delve deeper into the game with UI enabled clips showing off the unique things (defensive target, the encounter display, few other things) about Vanguard.
