VanguArt: The Art of Telon
Posted: Wed Nov 11, 2015 1:22 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, dear Telonians and art lovers
VGOEmulator is proud to present the VanguArt project! We all love the world of Telon, it's beautifully crafted and very authentic. As most of you know digital worlds don't build themselves, they're based on sketches called 'concept art'. Once the world opens for players in a digital form these designs are often forgotten. On the all new VanguArt Facebook page we'll give them some well deserved attention. For these sketches and paintings are true works of art. Every week we'll share new (in some cases never before seen) sketches and artworks, combined with interesting facts about the game's development. We'll even have an interview with the man who finished Keith Parkinson's cover art.
All you have to do to enjoy this new initiative is clicking the 'like' button on the 'VanguArt - The Art of Telon' page!

That being said we could use your help. Some of you (a small minority) might remember a similar project that was launched in september. It was never promoted on this forum. It was more of a test project to see if there was any interest in an art page. Once it started gaining momentum we had to take the page offline because our main source of material disappeared (it was lost in a fire, I'll spare you the details). The book that came with the collectors edition of the game is full of wondrous beauty and we scanned it using our university's book scanner (the kind google uses for google books). Without a book we couldn't make any scans of course so we ran out of material to post and the old page went offline. With the blessing of the VGOE developers we eventually decided to reopen the page under a new name in a way that's more connected with the VGOEmu-team. We'll share the scans we still have, combined with some material from the internet and a couple of unique designs straight from one of the artists private portfolio. This gives us a few weeks of material but eventually we'd like to make scans again. This is where this call for help comes in.
Copies of the book are readily available on eBay and they aren't extremely expensive, however shipping them to Europe (where we live) costs around $30. We're a 'team' of two students and we pay our studies ourselves. As idiotic as it sounds, $30 is rather a lot for us. We know this community is built upon love for the game so we're not asking for money. However, we are asking if there is someone who is willing to send us a copy of the book which they don't use anymore OR if there is someone who can make professional HD scans. If you're interested in helping feel free to send a PM on Facebook or on this website. Thank you!
