Flying Mounts

Okay so. I think most VG players agree that flying mounts: A. Have their place in the game and B. Should be difficult to get.
There were some flying mounts that were released after F2P, most of them were chest rewards, some of them were store bought. I really really liked these mounts for their appearance. But I don't like the way they were obtained.
So if we want to keep these mounts, we need to find a way to keep them in game without making the content trivial. So let's throw up some ideas of what could be done.
1. A lot of these mounts had attachments that allowed them to go the speed of a raid griffon if you had a raid griffon or similar mount. Allowing people to buy them off a merchant that are ONLY available to those that earned the quested mounts is one idea.
2. Another idea is to make them random drops from certain high end mobs.
3. Then we could always make questlines for them if that's possible.
4. Make them an alternative turn in for griffon, wyvern or POTA mounts. Could also trade them in for coins like the pegasus mount.
Any other thoughts on this?
