Questions about Veskal's Exchange
Hello folks,
back in the days, even at max level we used to bind at Veskals because it's a small place that has everything you need close by. So I thought I was quite familar with that area...
Now I have some questions, which I will list in order of difficulty:
1. Spider Cave:
I might have some difficulties to remember. But wasn't there a quest that lead you to it? Was it simply forgotton or has there never been a quest for it? It's not important, I just want to know.
2. There is one quest, unusual high for that area, that leads you back in there. It involves equipping the disguise pauldrons and sneaking up from behind to a NPC. Now I forgot, how do you hide as not playing a rogue? There doesn't seem to be a /sneak or /hide command. Do we need some invisibility potion or how do we hide and sneak without the ability?
3. Now this is to people only who are very familar with the area. As I said in the beginning we used to bind there even at level 50. So I remember, we used to rent a griffon, fly 1-3 minutes in a specific direction, which I sadly dont remember and ending up in an elfish looking tree house with high level 4 dots. I don't remember the level of them neither but I remember it took a small real group to beat them, speaking of tank, healer and whoever had time. It was a very small tree house leading to the right and left. Going to the left in the end there was a Named. I dont remember why we used to farm that Named either.
Now I don't find this tree house anymore. Also I don't remember all the commands we had to switch of the fog and increase viewing distance...
Bonus question: When I played 50 was the max level. So I only know the old Pantheon with the old quest, where in the End you had to kill a 6 Dot way over your level. All the healers of my guild needed to constantly heal me to get this quest to get an orange weapon, which was great at the time.
So I was curious and rifted to the strand of the ancients. Wasn't that the pantheon area?
I can't find the building nowadays. Isn't that included yet, now even empty? Or am I too stupid to find it?
Best regards,
Turin

Re: Questions about Veskal's Exchange
1. There were yes. But I'll explain why things are a little weird in Veskal's with your other questions.
2. So that quest was completely redone by SOE. It no longer works the way you think it should.
3. You might be thinking of the Fallen Lyceum in Kaon's Rush, a neighboring chunk to Veskals.
So it sounds like you stopped playing before SOE made some sweeping changes to Vanguard.
Notably, Veskals Exchange was changed from a teens level area to a 25-30 level area. Our intention is to make it teens level again, because (based on another change SOE made) people who are starting in Dahknarg and Halgarad need their teens level area back. You see SOE removed all the starter areaas except Tursh, Tanvu, Khal, and IOD. They changed Veskals to a 25-30 area because the game was lacking high 20's content. They also changed some of the quests so they were completely different, such as the paldrons quest. The way they changed it doesn't make a lot of sense and I've spent many hours trying to figure out how to restore it. That's why the chunk has the warning about it being worked on if you go there now. It's also why half the chunk appears to be teens level and half appears to be 25+.
Pantheon of the Ancients, ironically, went from a late 20's-early 30's area to a 51+ zone. The pantheon is still there, but you can't get in like you used to. We haven't worked on it much but we do intend to restore it to the late 20's/early 30's zone , and put the 51+ stuff elsewhere.

Re: Questions about Veskal's Exchange
Thanks a lot for that in depth explanation.
Now that you say it, I do remember having had a bit of struggle in the mid 20s, not finding enough quests, but more so 40+.
I checked the strand again and this time I found the Pantheon. I wonder how I could have missed that huge pillar of light the first time. Flying all over it I didn't find an entrance. But without the Quest NPC at the beach it doesn't matter. Also i don't have a group anyway.
I also checked the Fallen Lyceum, as you suggested. I remember that Zone. I think there might be one of these violet Glyph Stones our Psyonists had to click from time to time. The elfish looks are exactly what I meant, but it's not the small tree house Im looking for. The zone is much bigger.
But anyway, thanks again for your help.
