What do the various weaknesses do?
So I know the names of.all the weaknesses and the abilities that exploit them, but what do each of.them actually do in the game?
Burning has to be a fire damage dot, but for how much?
Afflicted? Vulnerable? Etc...
There has to be some documentation somewhere.
Thanks Mal

Re: What do the various weaknesses do?
So as far as I'm aware, the weaknesses themselves didn't do anything to the mobs. But Some player abilities could take advantage of weaknesses and exploit them. This was VG's way of letting players help each other through a kind of coordination of attacks, though the system wasn't that good and ultimately ignored by most players.

Jakkal,.
Thanks for the reply.
I do understand how to generate and exploit weaknesses, but the wiki description doesn't say what the ultimate effect of exploiting does. (And the list is incomplete, not showing all the classes or combos).
I read an earlier post on a forum talking about a Disciple debuffing a mob by exploiting a weakness.
There has to be some documentation describing the effect for each, right?
Thanks,
Mal

Re: What do the various weaknesses do?
Maybe, but I think it would be hard to find. It wasn't well documented in Live. Most of us just ignored it. I'm not sure what plans the devs have for it. I understood that most of them did a little more damage.
Checking my logs again, this is all it says in regards to it:
[16:32:03] [16:32:03] You have detected Burning, a weakness on Lesser Flarehound!
[16:40:57] [16:40:57] You have detected Burning, a weakness on Duneshell Ravager!
[17:41:55] [17:41:55] You have detected Vulnerable, a weakness on Spineshell Crusher!
There's nothing to indicate what the weakness did, even in our logs.

Re: What do the various weaknesses do?
Yeah, I guess. Honestly the system adds something to the game, but if you have no idea what it actually does, you might be better playing a different ability than trying to exploit something that provides little benefit.
Here's another site I found that provides a little more info:

I'm currently four boxing a Sorcerer, Shaman, Psionicist, and Druid; with the purpose of getting a nice long exploit chain.

Re: What do the various weaknesses do?
The weaknesses themselves did nothing. However, when you exploited them, you did a lot of extra damage.

If you were ignoring them in raids, thats probably fine as I'm sure they were getting consumed left and right, but in groups they were a decent increase in damage to the DPS classes that could focus on them.I have an ability Cyclone Kick that has the same Image:Dazed.jpeg icon on the bottom of it indicating it exploits the Dazed weakness. So when I see this icon on the target window I should use the Cyclone Kick ability to exploit it.
Exploiting a weakness shows up as an extra line in your combat window or logs such as
Your Cyclone Kick II hits Martok Flamecaller for 5 damage
You exploit the dazed weakness on Martok Flamecaller, dealing 123 additional damage.
