If you die with a dot on a mob you will go back into combat the next tick after you res since the dot is still on the mob.

Ideally, dots should drop off shortly after a character dies. Otherwise it can be exploited.

wasn't due to a dot, that is understandable and how live was. Was just using straight attacks, on my bard. no debuffs either as far as I could tell.

Fixed the being stuck in combat when a mob leashes. Sent a PM to Faux about the DOT.

I did not play my necros nearly as much as I played my psy (both dot-heavy casters). However, I do seem to remember my necros having to worry about residual dots on mobs after feigning death.
Real death may have been different, of course. My psy died a lot, and I don't remember having to worry about residual dots (or agro) after real death, even when I ran to loot my tombstone near the mob who killed me. On the other hand, the dots may have worn off by the time I got back to my corpse. Agro was gone by that time, however. The hate list definitely cleared after death, at least after the dots were gone.
It would make sense to me to (1) reset the mobs health and power to full, (2) clear all dots and debuffs, and (3) clear the hate list. Otherwise, as Jak said, it could be exploited.
Of course, I played VG a lot less after SOE got rid of tombstones, the bastards. It is possible the whole death thing changed at that point.

Training thru mobs still locks you in combat but now you can't just target something and toggle auto-attack. you have to fight something to release.

[13:36] <~Xinux_Work> ok so if you are in combat and aggro and train away it works fine. If you are not in combat and a npc puts you in combat and then leash it you stay in combat.....sigh
Ok this should be fixed in the next update I hope.
