Offering my help
Hi there everyone
Just registered here to state my interest in this project and offer my help wherever possible.
Things I'd be eager to help you with:
- Development (I only code pure C, so I will have to learn my way around C++ methodism, obviously)
- Package sniffing (had to start fresh, since my old characters were wiped when the server Halgar was abandoned, which means I'll be able to sniff everything from lvl 1 up to max )
- Website design/development (I used to work for a web design house in the past)
- Test server (I have an oldie but still goldie dual Intel Core2Quad server I could easily transfer to a nearby datacenter, if needed).

Re: Offering my help
Awesome, thank you for joining the community and for your interest in the project. We are currently closed-source (may remain so for some time) until we get some functionality beyond the base framework done.
Scatman is our principle developer who is currently away on real-life excursions, but will be returning likely in Feb 2014.
Just so you know where we're at, we've really only build "the framework" that VGO services will plug into (net, db, i/o, threading, etc). We are currently working on data structures and layout, while Xinux sorts through packets to prepare us for our first connection to the world server.
Stay tuned, and feel free to chat either me, Xinux or Scatman up any time for info on the source.

We'd love to have you on board. I'm glad to hear you're a C fan. Although the emulator is written in C++, you'll find most of it is C oriented with the exception of using C++'s data structures for ease. I've been busy the last few months with snow fun but pop on into IRC (if you haven't already)!
