Playing Vanguard
In an effort to prepare for bossing Scatman around when we enter functionality development I spent the afternoon trouncing through my old stomping grounds in the Deep Swamps of Thestra. I tell you what, for as much as I thought the player characters looked like they had downs syndrome, the game atmosphere's are truly astounding.
It's the countryside that made me really fall in love with the Vanguard graphics technology at the time. Here we are, almost 8 years later, and nothing is really any better. Do you recall the magnificent leaps in visualization between UO/EQ and EQ2? That was only 6 years... what's going on here, game designers?! Shit should look as real as my auntie by now!
Couple more screenies from today's romp -

It's F2P, Scat. You should join me for a quick romp through the world some night.
The down side of it, 6 years later, I am still level 50, at the same stage my char was in 2007, and the same bugs exist in the quests I couldn't complete back then hahah... that actually surprised me a little...
