Re: Borestones / Flying Mounts / Ships
I am sure with the talent that we have here, something could be done later on with levels 51-55 and some of the content that was associated with those levels.
I would miss those fights too, raiding was a big part of both of our playtime and maybe those fights could be added back in but at tweaked difficulty to suit 1-50?
Karax was level 50 at one stage when Veracity killed him
Levelling our mains and an alt or two back up from level 1 though, will be time consuming and I personally think 1-50 is the way to go to start with but this is just my opinion, I am sure others have different views on this subject, which is perfectly fine. I think compromise is a good thing, especially when dealing with a game that brought almost everyone here a lot of fun, memories and good experiences over the years and we need to come to an agreement on how to get that fun back with breaking the game again and getting the best possible experience for everyone in the process.

Re: Borestones / Flying Mounts / Ships
Does Vanguard have "Collections"? Like, EQ2 you collected 4 different kinds of Shells, turn them in to a Collection NPC and they gave you back a shell necklace with +5 int or something... ?
What if "Lorestones" actually just provided game lore like their name sounds? They tell a little story, maybe give you a segment of something. You collect 'x' number of segments, hand them in (or ask a crafter to assemble them) and you get some useful piece of equipment, ability, something unique to VGOEmulator. I can agree that mega buffs seem nerfy. But maybe an actual reward that's permanent would be nice (and not over-powering).

No, the only thing we had close to that was Bounty Hunters neck and Griffon neck/Teh Harbour neck which upgraded as you completed quests that were tiered, usually with level/group requirements.

To be honest, we have Diplomacy and the adventuring quests to deliver the bulk of the lore, the Lorestones were added with there own lore, the Devs basically through it together to explain some of the newer content/changes and the lorestones themselves, but it was pretty lazy and not many (if any) read the pop up texts, everyone just camped/hailed then raced off to the next one just to collect the passive buffs.
I like your thinking on them being just a method to deliver something that has no effect on empowering the players though, maybe we could use the Lorestones to explain missing things or changes that the Emulator makes?
Keeping it nice and simple of course but it would be a good way to explain what happened to the game and why some things are not as they used to be, we could even put our own twist on it and add fluff rewards like cloaks/capes? Things that people who play the game will be proud to wear in their appearance slot, just because the game is still alive and they are here to support it etc.

There have been some collections like bones and feathers (dropped by mobs), that you were able to turn in for ancient plat coins, there also was a collectibles bag to store them, which could be equipped in the harvest bag slot (where none of the crafted harvest bags could be equipped, see storage space thread... >>> viewtopic.php?f=48&t=780). It weren't many collections though...

I am still struggling to see why they should be put back in at all, it's a lot of work and balance for something that was never supposed to be in game, and pretty much anything they offer will take away from something else, and if they are lower versions of something else, they will be useless for the most part and not something people will bother with, therefore it would be a waste of timing adding them back in

How about faction reward? If we bring race KoS back in, and maybe make it even harder to get rid of, each set of lorestones could give a faction reward. If we skip the low level flying mounts as well... then it might be fun.

Personally, I would rather revert the game to it's true KoS factions and not mess with the factions levels or difficulty on the main server, some races had to grind for hours getting 1 faction per kill on low level mobs to just get neutral back and I like it like that, you should have to work to be accepted into a races faction that is at war with your race or hates your race, even from new characters making race choices and I think it is best for the game as a whole to leave Lorestones out of the game completely, unless they just deliver lore or information of some sort.
I really dislike them, they are such cheap and easy add ons that played a part in ruining the games immersion and experience overall and let's be honest, they are not needed, they just give out free buffs/damage/faction or whatever you want to make them give out, it's still free or relatively easy and not how the game was designed to be.
