Yes, I was told the same thing but I still mention it because it's something we could build much later on and it's more tongue in cheek since we are never meant to mention Lothenland and I always do and have done for years lol [/quote]
But we could always do Avra instead.

Don't forget there are 8 chunks of Isle of Dawn that I don't believe had anything in them. Check them out, design some content

Well... it seems like those chunks doesn't have any water volumes, only graphics, so kind of useless without a client mod, or if we finds out how to push geometry data from the server.

I don't know if you guys remember from pre-rifts but the boats between the continents never worked quite right. That really needs to get fixed if we're bringing that back.

I am, quite frankly, in the 'keep the rifts' boat. If we had a ton of players in an area that we could just up and group with, I'd be fine. But when you've only got a few hours to play per night (some per week) and you have to wait an hour for your group to assemble, that's a time and fun killer right there. But I don't want it to be like other games where you form the group and everyone gets insta-ported to the dungeon.

Not to mention that if you're doing other quests and you've ran through all of Telon a million times, making me run through it again doesn't do anything for me.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy exploring and I do enjoy running around the world in my free time. But when I want to actually go forth and accomplish stuff, I don't want to spend hours just trying to travel.

Personally I would like to remove the rifts but that is just not realistic for this project, so I would keep the rifts for convenience too, just because it will be a smaller community and travel will be an issue, but maybe a private server will take them out for a true original VG experience, that would be nice to have a character on that server to mess around with on the side, when we have more time to play, for me anyway

I do think we should make it so you can't use the rifts unless you physically go there and unlock them. I think that's a very reasonable compromise.

Absolutely, I agree with that too.

It just makes sense to explore first, unlock a rift and then have the knowledge/access to use it, you shouldn't be able to use something that you don't know exists.

Im in total agreement, its a valid compromise, at least until alternate ruleset servers, or a healthy base population exists. It still made travel mostly meaningful, at it could prompt the re-use of the caravan system.

I agree to this as well. We'll see what we can do when the time comes.
