Especially in low population games, Multi-boxing(without automation) has proven very useful over the years, back when I was playing VG live, I maintained 6 accounts, and ended up with a fair bit of duplication of roles to accommodate various classes on a particular account, I had a bard on every account so no matter who I was playing I could always have a bard in group(we often had a bard sitting group just playing songs for raid, when our bard mains weren't on).

Given they changes you have made to the launcher and the way characters are treated, so that you can allow people to play a character on more than one server, is there the facility to allow someone to play more than one character from the same account at the same time? or can there be in the future?

If this is not an option, can there be an increase in the number of accounts allowed from IP address(on a case by case basis), as the limit of 5 doesnt readily allow for multiple people playing from the same network and multi-boxing.

I applaud wholeheartedly any measures to stop spammers, botting, gold selling and all those nasty things that ruin game economies!

I didn't know there was a limit on the number of accounts, but my computer can only handle three at a time. I'm not sure if that's a host server restriction or something we can control.

As for logging into characters on the same account at the same time, I asked for the same thing and was told it wasn't possible. I also enjoy boxing, just not full group boxing because of the aforementioned limitation.

But we will definitely be as boxing friendly as we can be.

Nice, glad to hear it, the restriction on the number of accounts per ip address come to light when I was installing the new launcher, and the website wher you register your accounts I think also mentions it. i used to do 2 pcs 2 copies each, so you can alt-tab, much easier to manage, can do 6 at a push but effectiveness drops dramatically the more you add.

Not surprised about the answer re multiple logins, but figured I had to ask, has been on my mental list of things I would build into an MMO if I ever got rich enough to finance one Right at the top of that list has been buying VG and resurrecting it

I don't know if this information is current and/or if it is the plan moving forward. If it is, it would be nice if you have achieved "trusted" status, proved you are a player not a bot or other kind of troublemaker if this limit could be raised, as some households have more than one player and between them may want more than 5 accounts.

Notably the functionality of combining accounts logged in from the same IP address does not seem to be functional at this point, I have 2 accounts and they both log on separately from the same PC in the same session, so would have to be the same IP address.

We used to have someone on that boxed a full group, so I'd say try to sign up for six and see if it lets you. We haven't done much updating of the site pages, so that might not be true anymore, though I don't handle accounts/login stuff.
