Yeah I am aware of that behavior and I haven't started work on it yet (any dev being bored is very welcome to pick it up). It is probably a bit complex.

I propose to change priority from high to low, due to the circumstances when this happens. If you tell me how to do it I can do it myself.
I can make a revisit on the cases when we need the system (server) to clear the characters target once the solution around crash and reconnect is stabilized.

I will close the bug report as not reproducible, but please let us know if you find it again. I am sure you had an issue, and my theory is that something else triggered the behavior. I do take the sitting animation personal .

I tried sit/stand (mostly by pressing the short-cut key which I have assigned to 'x') at a number of places, including Elandar Isle at 23992 -39831 2168. I don't find any issue.
