Vanguard and Linux
The most recent era of when Vanguard was still active had issues while running in WINE. There was a certain obscure shader that WINE did not communicate well with and vanguard would crash as soon as it was called for. I believe there may have been a workaround at the time, but either way everything seemed to work fine besides this issue. With this community involved, would it be possible to sort this issue out for a future client to work in WINE?
Re: Vanguard and Linux
The issue is with the client itself and that is not being changed in anyway so if wine had a issue at sunset with the client it will still have that issue.
Re: Vanguard and Linux
Wine 1.8 has added a lot of additional D3D (and D2D support) including shaders so that issue may well be corrected. Wine 1.9.1 has even more shader support. (these versions have come since December 2015)

Thank you Kinshi, I will have to try with those versions at some point.
The custom launcher is also an issue with linux, although I think it is solvable. I have installed .NET 4.5 and some other typical components, but I am not sure of all that I need so far. It loads the initial network connection box which would then install/go to the launcher, but it crashes in between. I will post the error in another subforum if there is any interest or I can't figure it out. The older custom launcher opens fine, though that is no longer active.
